Does anyone know if the stock 2nd Gen TPS work with the SG3 for monitoring pressures? Have a UltraGauge in my 2014 and it is very limited at what it can read. Found the SG3 at AutoZone for $227 and thinking of upgrading but want to be sure it will monitor PSI with the OEM sensors.

Yes, it monitors your tire pressure, BUT you have to bring down the “Toyota/Lexus” drop down prompt then hit the manual scan for any codes. It will then scan your truck for any codes and it also shows the tire pressure. I wish it was just one or two buttons to hit but it’s not to get a tire pressure reading.

Also which annoys the hell out of me honestly, is it will give you the tire pressure reading for all 5 tires, but it doesn’t tell you which tire is 1,2,3,4, or 5. I started to make a little key the one day to put next to my cluster, to tell me which tire is which. It just pissed me off so I stopped. Given the cost of it the damn gauge should tell you.
Then again, maybe I’m doing something wrong…….you’d imagine it would read the tire pressures clockwise, but it doesn’t.

That is strange that it does not indicate the tire location, wonder if it is the gauge the sensors or something to do with the trucks ECM programing?

The truck isn't designed to know the location of the sensors, it doesn't need to. The TPMS's job is to turn the TPMS warning light on if one or more tires fall below a set air pressure.

Some vehicles with more sophisticated systems do use actual position so they can tell you which tire is low (although many times they aren't reset when tires are rotated and aren't correct anyway) but ours do not.

My 2008 Acura TSX lets you know which tire is low on air. It’s just annoying to have to check every tire when you’re down 5 psi or etc…
Toyota really does give you the bare-bones in these trucks.
