This is one of those times I wish I had a wiring diagram. Remove the fuse, insert meter, record reading, plug in scan gauge sub the difference. Done....

I went out an played with mine. It will activate if I push buttons (lower right). Light up and display whatever the last display was.

But it doesn't stay up too long. Didn't time it, but I guess 60 seconds or so. Then it shuts down. So even though it's a constant power, it's either really really low (like radio presets/clock) or it shuts down altogether. It's certainly not staying lit nor interrogating the ECU until it's activated.

That's pretty much what I observed. A .25w drain is nothing - 0.02 amp x 24 hours x 7 days / 100aH Type 27 battery is about 29 weeks, probably other vampire draw for alarm, power locks and so on would cut that in half. Mine doesn't sit idle at home but a day or two and longest we dry camped without starting it up was 9 days. I don't see it as an issue for us, I was curious and now 'no worries'.

I traced a ~100ma draw from it when the truck has all doors closed.

I replicated the same results with pulling the OBD fuse and unplugging the unit: in both cases the draw would drop from 150ma to 50ma total. This is with my $5 Harbor Freight mulitimeter, but I pulled all the other fuses in the engine bay and cab and never got it to drop below 50ma (flickering between .05 and .06 A the whole time). I am assuming that the 50ma is what the system was designed to draw at rest :notsure:

The unit comes on when I open the door, but that's it as far as I can tell from the screen coming on when I open the door. This is on my 98.

Ugh, of course I had to be up in the wilderness of northern Maine (with no mobile signal) when this all went down.

looks like I'm going to have to grab one of these, as I'm tired of having my phone tied up with the Torque app. Not the best deal, but it's a deal nonetheless.

Oh, yeah... you guys who got it back when you first started this thread got a much better deal, but I missed that one (family was in town and I didn't play on the computer much) so getting this deal was at least decent considering I've wanted to get this for a long time.

I have mine monitoring RPM, Voltage, Water Temp, and Trans Temp. I need to drive some more to get it down to 1/4 tank in order to do the 2nd fillup.

if it says fWT that's water temp, in F.

Trans temp is a X gauge that you have to enter the correct code for. Code is posted earlier in this thread, or available on SC website, for 2010+

Once you see RPM matches your tach, no reason to watch that.

MPH won't be accurate till you adjust the SC to compensate for your gumbos. When you get it to match a GPS, you'll be good.

Didn't yours come with an instruction book?
