Scangauge Mount

Will be easier for you folks for sure....up here in Canada I had to order it through a auto parts supplier. I believe this is the same product and colour that Meso Customs uses as well.

The effort to prep and mount your Scangauge in one of these mounting bezels was not difficult. The result is very clean and professional looking. The viewing angle is not ideal and I have to admit that overall I am disappointed with the results.

When located in the overhead console it is more convenient but you still can't see or read the display when driving. It just isn't bright enough. The guy that makes the mount is very accommodating and no disrespect to him is intended. He admits he does not have a Tacoma. If someone were to ask him to redesign the mount and work with him so that it is faces the driver and improves the viewing angle I think it could be a great product. It's current configuration, however, still needs a bit more design work.

I took a picture this morning before I pulled out of my driveway. I'll post it later today. In this picture the sun was not bright as the day is overcast. You can see how at night when the Scangauge's illumination is greater than the brightness of the sun, it isn't too bad. If the mount were to tilt the gauge towards the driver it may be all that is needed.

 

The above picture is what you can expect at night. Not bad! But during the bright sunlight, not readable with a quick glance while driving.

I'm assuming you never got a response....I would buy one, but I'm going to take a wild guess and say he doesn't make them any more. Yes, I bumped a 1.5 year old thread. lol

lol I do too but it's been awhile since this thread has seen any activity. He's still active on TacomaWorld though.

I bought this instead, it looks ok, but doesn't have that OEM look.

 

Some velcro included with the SG, wires hidden really well, and i can see it perfectly.

 

I have 2 gauges on my a-piller and 2 on my steering column so these 2 spots won’t work for me.

My bad, I thought you made these, I just reread you original post. Disregard my last post.

 

I was able to get one. I emailed him and he responded after the couple attempts I made. He was backed up by 2 months or so but was willing to make me one. I just received yesterday.

I do have a question. What is the best way to run the cable to the driver side A post?
