I have been a huge fan and user of the scangauge 2 in my tacos, but over the last few days Ive noticed that it causes my gauges to bounce and lights to flicker across the dash and my radio to reset. I thought maybe my battery was weak, load tested fine. Checked connections and they were tight, no corrosion. It also caused my remote to stop unlocking and locking the truck, making funny beeps etc. Anyone else seen this? I had the sc2 set up to read TF1, TF2, MPG, Water Temp. I changed the mpg to current gear on the display and it slowed down the jumping needles on my gauges. Im not saying theyre all going to blow up and cause issues, just wanted to through this out there for others incase they start seeing it, they can unplug it.

so your dash gauges don't show same symptoms if you disconnect the sg2 from the obd??? Send it back to SG for a fix or replacement.

I've had this one hooked up for 3 years and on my 2nd gen for 5+. It's been sent back to get the software update prior to puting it in my 3rd gen.

It's definitely causing issues that aren't explained with any other variable at this point. It's so weird driving around with out it. Feels like I'm driving around naked. I also had in a Jeep and a Tahoe for a while. Love the damn things but it's up to no good right now.

Sorta sounds like something inside it is shorting 12V to ground momentarily and maybe resetting the cluster/flickering lights/etc.

    Or maybe a bad cable.

Funny you ask, I tow a small 5x8 enclose trailer and a 19 foot camper pretty regularly. I liked knowing my trans temps but after almost 90k miles with that thing plugged in I've learned a few things, a big one being my trans temps have never been outside normal limits and I would constantly glance down and look at things like I'm driving a grenade. In short; I don't need it anymore , just letting anyone who cared to know, this thing is doing weird shit out of no where.

It's likely has fretting damage on the OBD2 connector. These connectors were never designed to have stuff plugged into them long term.

Sounds plausible. I'm leaving it unplugged for a few tanks to see if it doesn't anything funky again. Like I said a moment ago, I probably won't use it for anything but scanning for codes if I cant use my scanner.
