    Was asking because the wife is driving the Taco up to Montana while I deploy, for the winter, was thinking of some ways of getting better mpg for the trip. Drove down to Florida for a couple of days and on highway am getting 20.3 mpg

    Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
    $1300. Runs and drives alright, needs some carb adjustment/cleaning/reuild. It's a beater for now but i'm trying to get parts together to make it nice.

    I did that. Unhooked battery for a while, turned on and off several times. Then drove regularly with it for a month... Just never acted right. Mileage at the time was 40k with all services up to date. Did the AFE-S pro dry and it has been much better 38k later.

    Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
    if you ever get a snorkel, keep the paper filter handy for offroading. i'd probably still swap them out now when you go.

    Odd, something to do with the filter then?
    I've still got my factory filter in. With all these issues of others I wouldn't switch to anything other than factory style.

    Finished my boy's truck today! He's still got a few things he wants to add, but the big stuff is done. I feel like somebody beat the hell out of me. I love working on suspensions, but it's hard work.
    Anyway, for his I went with Icon coilovers at 3" and added Fuel Boost wheels and 285/75-16 Kelly TSRs. Looks really good to me and he LOVES it.

    Thanks. It was just under 2k for all of it...Icon 2.5 coilovers, LR UCAs, Icon Progressive AAL, and Bilstein 5125s for the rear. Got it all at Headstrong Offroad.

    LOL...it's better than what I've got on my truck too! I just wanted to put really good stuff on his truck so it will drive normally and he wouldn't have to fight it on the road. A safety thing, in my mind.
