ok blown boots, honestly that makes me feel better (not that you've got blown boots)because the cv breaks were not sudden catastrophic failure more of a "i should have done something different" kind of fail. Those I can live with and try to avoid. I haven't done much research but I do wonder if there are many aftermarket beefed up axles on the market.

 

Rcv makes axles but they are about a grand... Idk if mine is completely broke, I'll have to pull it and look big I do know that it pops at low speeds though

 

I wouldn't do RCVs. That makes the next weakest point the front diff. I much rather eat up axles than diff's.

I have a feeling it won't be as bad as people think though.

I think you should get a crawl box first imo then it would be hard to break one as most the time what breaks them is when they randomly catch traction with speed

 

Look at CVJ. You send in your old oem ones and they send you refurbed oem cvs with silicone high angled boots already done for about 300 when its all said and done for the pair

That's what I'm going to do. Already picked up one OEM spare, once I find another I'm gonna send both to them. When they come back I'll have mine rebuilt as spares.

 

A buddy of mine is running them and the fins are really far apart and gives me a piece of mind. I'll be doing the same eventually.

Yeah, I hear its a bitch to do though and if there is anything else wrong they will fix that while they're in there. Sounds like a better plan to me.
