    Damn ok well the easiest way to check for a bad clutch is to stick it in 3rd or 4th gear and let off the clutch with pushing the gas and if it takes off then your clutch is bad if it stalls then clutch is good

    I'll try that. I was noticing it wanting to grind going into 4th yesterday and generally harder than normal between gears. I drive pretty easy (like old folks) and rarely shift very hard. If i let the rpms drop long enough it slides into gear. I can't tell if it's a synchro or if the clutch isn't fully disengaging.

    For the record my normal shift pattern is 1_2_4_6 and has been since I got the truck 160k ago, about to turn 220.

    Typing this it and thinking it almost sounds like a throw out bearing which are notoriously Shitty in these things

    Yes the are but if the clutch has never been changed with that much miles on it it's due

    Are we in agreement that it's more likely clutch/TOB than a synchro?

    You know of a decent transmission shop around here. I handle most wrenching jobs myself but a clutch in my driveway doesn't sound like my idea of a good time

    The only shop in Summerville I would take it to for a clutch job would be Gerald's on D.rd by Walmart really any repair shop can do clutch jobs

    Okay so basically I cut the oem and rigid plug then replace them with these and use fog light button to operate?

    Yes correct , they have different plugs you maybe able to look & find 1 that would plug into the rigid plug .
