Just looks kinda like one because of the terraced hill. Looks like yall had a good time!

My son and I drove up to Jumping off rock in jocasse gorges. Not much for wheeling but a nice gravel road with some steep hills. View was awesome though!

Most of the trails were gated off, they had a gate closed right at the jumping off rock trail. This was my first time up there, wife and daughter went to a baby shower and my son asked me to take him to the mountains.

So if you are standing in the road facing the trail to jumping off rock, the road on your left going down the hill was gated? Never seen a gate there.

I've not been up at all this year. Was going to go today but got stuck with yard work.

Yeah gate right there. they had a sign on the trail about peregrine falcons nesting in that area for the first time in like a hundred years or something. Said no one was allowed beyond that point.

The gates are opening either the 10th or 20th this month and will be open for all of april. We need to get a trail ride together or something while their open.

I'm down. I just don't want to be in there during turkey season.

Yea. Pretty much the hunters don't care for sightseers.
You get anymore than 5-6 trucks in a convoy and they think you're just up to no good.
I would just rather respect their hunting privelidges and go whenever there's not so many people with shotguns. Knowhatimsayin.

Yeah, lots of traffic isn't exactly great for game. and considering they only open the gates for hunting they kinda have a right to. Any time of day better than others, I know up in NC on pinnacle mnt around 9AM in hunting season it turns into rush hour with all the hunters leaving at the same time. after that you hardly see anyone up there.

How about a camry was pulling up to jumping off rock as I was leaving. lol, must have been a hell of a ride, they had to bottom out high centered on some of the hills.

Ha!! I'm not surprised. I'm tellin ya, I've seen mini vans up there.
I didn't live here when I was told you needed atleast something with a locker. I bet those days were fun. But I really do enjoy it now though. Couple spots you can see for miles.
