    yea steels not to bad every winch ive ever owned was steel and never had a problem but ill get rope sooner or later just for weight

    I got my smittybilt xrc 9500 for $300. It's steel line though but it doesn't bother me. I will probably only use mine to pull up shrubs and pull out jeeps.:D
