I like the Hybrid design, like you said it needs to come up higher, but i also think i would make those shackle points out of something thicker and stronger!

 

Im just gonna put a light bar on top. promble solved. And for pad eyes / shackle points 3/8" are strong enough. People under estimate the stregth of steel. Exp 3/8" pad eye, 3/16" plate bolted to 1/8" factory mount ????. P.S we build 40,000 lb tanks at work and pick them up with only 4 of them. Ill stick with it

Okay so that is about 10000 a piece as far as force goes. You get 1 5000lb truck jerking on another 5000 lb truck trying to get it out of the mud. That has to be over 10000, idk, if I felt like calculating the breaking strength I could but I don't really feel like it. I would just rather over do things. haha

That's exactly why I got a prerunner. I've had 4x4's all my life and never needed 4wd. Where we hunt and fish there's no danger of getting stuck lol.
