I've read where quite a few on TW have....but I've also read that it isn't recommended. Nobody ever said why though.

Gotcha. I'm just so sick of my clunking OME nitrochargers up front. Can't go over a speedbump, let alone drive more than 3 mph through the woods/farm road without them slamming and jolting my entire truck. It sounds terrible.

Quite a few, been lifted for ~3yrs, prob close 70 or 80k miles, if not more, I'd have to look. I noticed said issue almost immediately tho, and it got much worse when I went from 265s to 285 E range duratracs

Just wondering about ride quality and your opinion on those shocks, I'd probably just swap out the front shocks with the billies, happy with the rear setup

I'm running 5100s up front with stock sr5 springs but I might try my trd springs for a stiffer tighter ride sense I add the bumper

Ome 887s, dakars, lr uca, sliders, konig countersteer,
The 885s and ome shocks require weight.. Throw some skids on or a bull bar even bumper and it will smooth out.. The more weight the more the shock and spring is compressed therefore more room to articulate on uneven surfaces.. When its fully extended has no room to extend .. Also it's the recoil.from said spring and shock that suddenly compresses and not enough weight to slow down the recoil shock valving.. And unweighted spring recoils harder and faster than a weighted spring .. The way billies are able to do it.. Is 5100s have more holes in their valving which slows down the spring recoil but not necessarily better for weight.. If that makes sense?

I had a little bit of this issue but not as bad as you. I'm running nitros and 886 with arb bumper. You just need more weight.
    I love mine.
Bingo! Loving mine now that I've got sliders, ifs skid, and will be better with a winch. Also have 3/4 ton + 3 leaf progressive aal bastard pack in the rear.

Yep that makes perfect sense, and id love to have a bumper eventually, just don't have that kinda coin layin around. I've read quite a few threads about the OME clunk issue, and a few people have switched from the Nitros to the billies and were happy with it, i was just throwin around the idea as it'd be cheaper than a bumper....idk, or I'll just live with it in hopes of being able to buy a bumper someday haha
