    Oh hell man. That sucks. I wish I was closer, I would help her out. Most HVAC companies are as bad as mechanics but sometimes you can find a good one. Call around and she can find it cheaper.

    The only way I can see that much is if the leak is in the evap and you have to replace it. More than likely it's just a schrader.

    Unfortunately most of the time that I've seen it's in the evap coil. But never underestimate a Schrader valve either.
