And you guys mounting antennas on the bed rails.... the further you can place the loaded area of the antenna away from parallel "grounded" metal, the better your antenna will work. 2nd gen will work the best with a "NGP" antenna because of the lack of metal in the bed. I have had the best luck putting CB antennas on the light tabs of offroad bumpers....

But Fsck CBs. Get your ham license. better range, better radios, better all around.

HAM is only good if other people you're traveling with have a them. Its hard enough to get everyone equipped with CBs. HAM is pretty much out of the question
