Lady was BSing you. Its a public road, there is a green road sign on the side of the highway saying "hurrican creek RD." . If it was a private drive it would be blue sign. The forest service wants to close all trails to 4x4s. The land owners on hurricane creek wont let them change it to a forest service road so they can close it down.


As far as forest service roads are concerned, closings are controlled by gates, if it was closed it would have a red (permanent) , green (seasonal) or black gate (private access). Since there is privately owned land on the road the gate would be black and the land owners would be given a key.

And it may be spot on that it is currently a battle between land owners and the forest service on who owns the road and who can use it..

Again guys, I am not trying to tell anyone what to do.. Just simply a public service announcement. Take it for what it is worth--it was just info that I wanted to relay
