What I hate is our JLG lift.......almost 100' up plus you're extended out also. And it's swaying all around while you work.

Wow... lol You got the wrong vehicle worrying about mpg so much to take it back to stock.. Im getting 15-17 now and that's plenty enough for me. lol

    This.

I was thinking twin peaks as well and go from there. Maybe around lunch time so we have enough time to bs, talk, and figure out a plan from there?

Valentines Day weekend, me and the misses(hopefully a future gf) are coming down to take her parents house and introduce myself.

Most people don't account for their tires throwing off their odometer reading when figuring MPG. I'm pretty sure that's the biggest cause of the reported mileage losses.

Alright I need ideas and input and I haven't started a build thread yet cause I'm a lazy asshole.

I want a drawer/storage/sleeping platform setup for my bed. I built something from plywood a couple months ago and it ended in disaster shortly after. Even covered in Raptor liner, it delaminated and feel apart in a month. So Now I'm onto version 2.0.

Here's what I had. I didn't get finished pics, I guess I forgot to take them, but you'll get the idea.

    IMG_20131110_160217_021_zpsd401d584_dd411024a89e81b2476fe4ba221cb38fc58a70c4.jpg

So I yanked that out and put it in the back yard. I got on Craigslist (my solution to a lot of problems) and found this a week later. This will be the base for version 2.0
    IMG_20140131_172410_927_zps907e6794_b8f3ac12b649529dfa2407d8d4b08f5ea47614a2.jpg

The other toolbox in the bed will be coming out soon.

So my question is, what next. I've looked it Duraply and MDO as building materials, but I'm also considering metal. The drawer is 48" long so I have room to build another box/compartment between the cab and the drawers like I had previously. Maybe to mount a spare battery, onboard water tank (Expedition style) or something else.

So anyone have any ideas on where to go from here?

Keep in mind I also have this waiting to go on, provided I don't sell it to build a bed rack

We can get together and brain storm some ideas on turning that box into a sleep platform. I got BIG idea. Let's use that box as a base to expo trailer rig lol and mount a RRT on top JK

Just my .02. If your not gonna use a high rise camper shell, sleeping on top of some thing like that has it's downsides. I built a platform inside my shell even with the wheel wells, and had zero room to move. Couldn't sit up, couldn't change clothes. Deff couldn't lay any pipe back there lol I mean if your gonna expect any comfort kiss it goodbye. I ripped mine out after the second wheeling trip, and havnt looked back. And I'm not very big 5'5 150lb. Now that being said having storage underneath is great and it keeps prying eyes off of your goodies. If you could just make it below the wheel well it might be alright.

    RTT or nothing.

lol I thought about doing a sleeping platform under my bestop but one night in VA at 20* changed my mind real quick like. Plus if i had a lady friend the chances of laying pipe as brad stated would be abysmal lol..

    Thanks for the help Justin!(TheGoat)

Well i suppose its time for another update. Since i only had half the lift on in the rear i decided instead of going to a shop, to hit up another TW member in greenville in hopes of actually getting my truck back looking good again. So TheGoat generously allowed me to use his space and tools to get this done. Pics.

This part was soooo easy compared to last time, we didn't have nearly this much droop out of the axel last time and we literally grinder the nut off and the leaf pack separated :woot: over halfway done! :woot:

And she's back on the road lifted all around

Gonna take better pics later but this'll do.

Drivers side. i finally have a Rake again in the rear  and thats with the bedrack and my RTT sitting on there, i can only imagine when it's not

    Passenger side
    [IMG]

    And obligatory Suspension pics

rear setup (Chevy Leaf spring rebuild pack w/ Fox IFP 2.0 extended shocks (2"-3" of lift) )

    Front(FOX IFP 2.0 Coilovers)

Will take measurements later on flat ground lol i've got pre lift measurements so I'm curious how much lift i got out the back.

I wouldn't recommend takeing any weight out of the back till you get some extended brake lines. you've got a couple hundred pounds of cargo besides your RTT and bedrack.
