People in the UK care less about sexuality because they are less religious, people in the US and the drinking age is affected by religion which can be seen by the most religious part of the country (the south) had a drinking age of 21 while the rest of the country was still 18, more so the drinking age was changed in 1984 because of high rates of drunk driving in the US, but drunk driving doesn't happen in the UK because most people between 18-25 don't have cars.
