IRA's, Mutual funds, CD's. Anything short term you can get out of with a reletively low (15%) penalty seems to be a good choice nowadays.
I don't participate in 401k, stocks, etc.

However, I did have some luck a few years ago with Etrade and bought into "capstone". My biggest mistake was not buying into "dana" coorp. My pops worked for them and was downsized/layed off. Didn't think they were going anywhere.
Look at there charts from the last 5 yrs... If you would have bought in, You could have retired at a very early age.

 

Still looking for a decent optics for my Steyr Aug.
Sold my Eotech 512 because it interfered with my charging handle. Now just running mbus. Not sold on anything really.

 

However with the release of the new Aug M1, I might have to buy a new rifle to get the optics I need.

Then Etrade might be for you. I liked them because they had a local office and I could stop in and ask questions if needed.
I knew nothing about trading. Had a hundred dollars to play with and was like wtf.
Signed up, transfered funds and was trading in a week. It wasnt a huge gain, I think I made $350 in a month. Closed it, took my money and ran.

Its "throwaway" Money is what I call it. Lotto tickets, beer, magazines, pc games, sometimes gas money to just drive around the mountains for a weekend, vending machine food. It's $100 you would normally flush down the toilet anyway. Might as well throw it at something else, right.

No kidding. If my Pop's would have done better last year or my brother wasn't so stingy....I would have to bring some of his famous (to him) venison jerky.
He gave me the last of his stash when I left indiana headed for SC a few days after new years.
It lasted about 30 miles. I keep tellin my Pops he should go legit with that shit but you can go osterich, buffalo, bison, alligator, snake whatever but for some reason you can't go venison in indiana. Or anyplace that I am aware of.

Why invest into some thing were there is a possibility of loss? Stuff ive been studying for has all gains no loss. Limited Gains, but 0% LOSS. Now tell me where would you put your investments? But these investment are for those less then 5yrs to retire. I would already have my license but, priorities have changed. Ill be back a the financial thing some time this month.

Yup, that's where I screwed up. I claim 10 dependents during the summer months when overtime is really kicking in.....every year. In 2014 I left it like that for too long. My Federal withholdings were $5K less than last year & I made more $$ also. This year I'm claiming 0 regardless of overtime. They'll just murder me week to week vs owing at the end.

 

Every day is the Tilted Kilt at my house......I'm always drinking beer & while the kids are at school, the fat wife loves to run around naked.

Any of you SC folks have any use for suspension parts from a base 4x4? I've got stock UCAs, coil/strut assys, rear shocks, bumpstops, tires and wheels(steelies), and a stock exhaust manifold from a 2.7 All this stuff has 4600 miles on it. If any of yall are interested in any of this, let me know.
