The bed lights have limits as can be seen but bed lights or no bed lights? I like them and I know what to expect from them.

Are you confusing bed lights with Trailhunter's bed scene light? Bed lights illuminate the interior of the bed.

lol. All the dealers do the same thing to me. It’s like I grew a second head when I ask them about the scene lights.

Real talk though, has ANYONE been able to find a source for these or have a hookup? I’ve been bugging Toyota every month asking if I can order them to install and they still aren’t available in the parts store to order. They can see them in the system, just can’t order. Seems like every other option you can. I just keep getting a “you should be able to order them eventually”. Take my money Toyota, I’m tired of waiting lol. I work nights in Florida, I don’t want to step on a gator.

There's a thread on another owner who got in accident or something and had bed scene lighting. He's been saying that the parts for the bed scene lighting have been on backorder for months. We can order the rails but the lights and wiring and the backordered parts.

I want to know how to tie other lights into the scene lighting wiring. I want to add a roof rack with more scene lighting that uses the bed scene lights.

You use the (+) wire from the scene lamps circuit as a trigger to a relay to the added roof lamps.

I would wait for aftermarket companies to come up with a bed trim lights that actually illuminate the ground and not just directly out. From my understanding the trailhunter bed scene lights are weak and only illuminate outwards.

The lights would have to stick out beyond the fenders to light below them. It really comes down to geometry and that is why I don't like the lights bit nothing you can do about them really. Rock lights under the fenders is what is needed.

Not necessarily, why can’t the lights be made and installed to be angled to shine on the grounds? It doesn’t need to stick out. It can be made to swivel.

It’s wild to me because new ones keep showing up at the dealers here with them installed. Ugh.

The curves in the sheet metal would physically block the light from shining on the ground. I'm pretty sure there are lights out there that are flush mount with an angled reflector that would project on to the ground. Even an angled bezel would work look at all the commercial scene lighting options available. Those wouldn't fit the bed rail application and the curve in the wheel well buldge is still going to block the light spread.

You’re right. The fender humps would block most of the light. I didn’t consider this.
