    @Dudeman86

    We have our sliders on both our second and third gen Tacomas. We put a standard bolt on, no kick on the second gen angled up 20 degree and the same but with kick out on the third gen.

    We went wheeling at Rausch Creek in PA a couple weeks ago and trust me when I say that I trail tested the living shit out of them. Slammed them against a few rocks so hard I was sure I destroyed the truck and my kidneys and nothing, no damage anywhere.

    Our sliders come standard with DOM tubing which is often an upgrade on most sliders. We highly recommend going with DOM tubing no matter who you choose.

    We also engineered 3 features into our design that put our bolt on design above everyone else. The front of the main flange is boxed around the chassis using our c clamp design. The rear of the flange is pinched against the chassis and locked in place using beam clamps, each rated for 12,000lbs of weight and we use 4... These two features, plus being bolted through the chassis in 5 places per side ensure our flanges do not flex.

    To eliminate the large moment arm in the rear of the main hoop, we added a gusset tube that is fully welded to tbe rest of the sliders structure.

    Check out these couple links for more info which should answer any questions you may have:

    I got myself a set of Mobtown sliders. I went with flat bolt-on sliders and the fill plates. I couldn't be happier.

    I corresponded with a bunch of vendors and I'll be honest and say that getting a set shipped across the country wasn't my first choice. But two things helped me decide. Mobtown was by far the best at getting back to me with all my questions. Second, somewhere in these threads he described some of his design philosophy and in particular why the gussets aren't centered on the tubes. It looked like a considered design.

    My partner and I are both engineers (@jowybyo aerospace and myself manufacturing) and didnt settle for anything but bullet proof. We built multiple designs and tested them before building a final, released set. No corners were cut anywhere with these or anything we make for that matter.

    There are so many subtle things in structural engineering that may seem like a simple thing but make a huge difference in strength.

    Yeah, we did some cost analysis and realized we were paying people to own those sliders. So we still have them but we are working on a more cost effective alternative.

    Those are factory steps, mounted to the cab, not sliders which are mounted to the frame and are the same for DCSB and AC. The OP is interested in sliders.

    I appreciate all the info and insight you have provided. It's nice to see vendors actively engaged in a forum. I have Prichard from you recently, the in bed locking doors, and found those to be awesome products. I am not sure about the sliders though. Very nice product, but perhaps to much for my needs. Then again, I'm a firm believer in being prepared for the worst case scenario. What would approximate shipping be to CA?

    Yes, I'm well aware. Go read post #23 and you'll see Aussie was originally talking about steps and then edited his post to say sliders instead.

    Shows how much I don't know... I always saw those kickouts as steps into the front of the bed... in reality those are to push stuff out of the way for the rear fender/tire... duh!!

    No. My cousin is a fabricator so he makes pretty much anything from scratch.
