School me on tailgates

My 2015 Tacoma got rear ended. It needs a new tailgate and bumper. Can I buy a tailgate off of eBay and simply take mine off and put this new one on? This one on eBay says prerunner mine is an sr5 crew cab. Is there only one size tailgate on these tacomas. Is this as simple as I am thinking this will be?

 

Yup the same, just different badges on there. But those can easily be removed.

 

Same tailgate so long as it's same generation and years. SR5 is a trim level. PreRunners means 2WD. You can have an SR5 PreRunner.

 

Thanks guys you can tell I am new to the Tacoma world. Is this going to be as easy as just removing mine and putting theirs on?

 

It'll take you less than 20 minutes to replace as long as the hinges didn't get bent up from the accident.

 

It should be. Unless your bed is bent.
