Scion tC or Mazda 3

I say neither....Sorry it's just my opinion...But I'd say get her this...Nom Nom Nom

 

If its the 5 door, Mazda3 or Mazdaspeed3. The base engine in the Mazda3 (current gen), was way to weak IMHO when I drove it. I loved the 5 door.

tC kicks ass though. Definitely better than the sedan Mazda3.

 

I had a Black 2007 tC before I got my truck. Completely stock automatic, I delivered pizza with it. After 40,000 miles, it still felt like a new car. I didn't have one mechanical problem with it for the entire time I owned it, and didn't even have to change the brakes (which are awesome by the way). When I got my truck, I gave the tC to my sister. She's driven it an additional 10,000 miles, and still hasn't had an issue with it. I got to drive it the other day, still feels brand new.

 

The new 5.0 will be cool but to expensive.

I'm in more or less the same boat. I bought my Scion in Sept06 with 14K miles. It's still in my driveway and have nearly 90K now. Only issues I've had were tires (My wife seems to go thru them fuckin FAST), a catalytic converter I kinda trashed and still got covered under warranty, and a some paint/body damage that happened just recently.
It still runs great and have given me 0 issues. I'm in the process of buying parts to replace the entire suspension and brake systems...neither of which has been done to date as far as I know.

As a mechanic, the Scion tC is better overall because it's a Toyota. The 3 has a lot of Ford parts, I don't need to explain any more, haha.

 

I'd vote for the 3.

I own one, a 2006 3s sedan (manual, of course). Bought it used with 30k, selling it now with 74k. Only thing I've needed to do is change the oil and replace the tires. Damn thing runs like a top. Like Ford didn't have anything to do with it.

I'm only selling it because I'm moving to a Tacoma. If I could afford to keep both, I'd do it in a heartbeat.

The only reason she is leaning towards the tC is because it's a coupe. The Mazda has some better options, but I told her it's cheaper/more fun to do some of the mods yourself.

 

It's a happy car! That's why my daughter bought an 09.

Mazdas' burn oil due to thier rotary engines. Also if it matters you can't use synthtic oil.

 

tc is my choice but the mazda 3 sedan is nice in the 2007 flavor
