I've definitely been lurking your build. I want the gears for crawling, right now my stock 1st low feels so fast with 33's.

When I went to 33's my rig wouldn't hold 5th gear at 75 mph unless I was going downhill... That was one of the biggest reasons I regeared. With 4.88's and 33's, I am so low geared in 4Lo and 1st that I can actually kill the motor in some rock crawling instances like a manual trans. It freaked me out the first few times. haha It will actually creep up hill a little on it's own which surprises me for an auto.

I'd go 488 if I was ever going 35s. But I dd my truck too much to go that big. I know lots of people do it and dd bit that's not for me. Plus 35's going fast in rough stuff like i frequently do I feel like would be too much extra torque on frame mounts that are meant to handle 31's... Not worried about my control arms or spindle its what they're attached to haha. Feel free to comment if you feel I should go 35's for some reason other than Montes favorite response..."BECAUSE 35'S!!!!!!"

Well I am an auto so my overdrive is geared a bit higher than yours. 80 mph for me on 33's and 4.88's runs me at 285RPM, for you that would be almost 3400 RPM. I find anything over 3K unreasonable. I have a stock exhaust and above 3K you are getting to where the radio has a hard time drowning it out... I couldn't imagine having a louder aftermarket exhaust...

I assume you are going with 4.56's? 35's get you at about 3K RPM at 80 mph (not sure if WY has bumped the speed limit up or not). Anything smaller than 35's and you will be cruising over 3K at 80 mph ;) and who couldn't use another inch of ground clearance ;) If you stay on the same wheels then you gain another inch of side wall to soak up the trail at speed as well as a tire that bridges the bumps better too.

They make gussets for all those weak links you mentioned ;) Get a crossbar built for the coil buckets and weld some metal onto those LCA mounts ;)

Eh, i think you have the truck dialed for 33s. 35s would be awesome, but a lot more work. Id stay with 33s this next set of tires anyways. The next set maybe jump up to 305s or 315s.

    or do 305s now.

I think this will be your best bet! Not that I don't like my 35s, but I understand what you're saying about all the extra stress. I actually have a semi cracked LCA mount that needs some serious gusseting soon!

Mine cracked too... I just had the guy welding on my cam gussets run a bead where it was cracked. I know trac makes a gusset. Gonna call them soon. That lower mount really bothers me. How's your frame man?

Have a picture of said gussets? Front is getting torn apart in the next week or two. Might as well reinforce those as well.

I'm thrilled with how my 295/70R17 Cooper ST MAXX look! Always thought it would be awesome to have 35s, but I don't want to have to do all the cutting, bashing, and cutting (I know I said cutting twice) that goes into running them. I'm still touching my flares at stuff with the 295s! To me, going with this size makes the truck look badass!

Look at nfs's truck the lime green accent rig built by trac performance. I'm on my phone or I'd link his build. He's got the lower gussets.

Where did you all crack them? After looking at NFS257's deal, that won't work with the alignment cams.
