Haha, I hate loud exhaust (unless full race car)... These headers are even a stretch for me as a dd.

Yea don't get me wrong, when gettn after it there's nothing better than a good exhaust note. But on the road every day or a long trip with hours on cruise its terrible.

I could see that. Its been a few years since ive had a loud exhaust other than my motorcycles. But i usually listen to music louder in that case, ha

I bet it was. I wish mine had some throat to it during some of those passes.

I do agree open header would be stupid loud. Marc, what do you think youll get done? A equal diameter mandrel bent exhaust or just go with a larger diameter crush bent style?

Honestly I'm on the hunt for some stock muffler back piping to work with my guy locally. Nobody near me has a mandrel Bender. I love the high clearance I have now but the flow sucks and I can tell once I pass 3500 rpm it literally gets quieter and just hits a wall when I know it should gain. Besides that I don't want to open up the y pipe or get a smaller muffler because last time I did that I lost all my low end.

Wont stock be a smaller diameter than the collector on the headers? Not sure what the measurements are on either to be honest. For max performance you should be able to.match at least the collector diameter and not lose any torque (which is affected by gas velocities/scavenging not backpressure technically)

I've considered it but also unsure if it would clear the pelfrey mid skid.

@Sacrifice The stock piping is the same as what my muffler out is. If I had unlimited funds I'd just order all kinds of exhaust parts and mismatch stuff till I got the sound and power I'm after... But that's not gonna happen lol. Yea backpressure is misunderstood for the most part but I was blown away by how much low end I lost with just a 18" magnaflow welded in the stock muffler location in stock piping otherwise. To clarify I have a 22" magnaflow now

Wow you noticed a bunch of power loss? I have exactly the same muffler you had (18" Maggie welded in stock location). To me it seemed the 18" Maggie was better for my butt dyno. How's the 22" now?

The 22 felt better in the stock location than the 18 did in the same place. I think volume of the muffler played a role. I've just kept the 22 since then. 22 is plenty loud with the headers now. Power loss was down low in rpm with the 18. I noticed it on the highway in 6th gear the most.

Yea no back preassure..no torque. Important for non boosted motors. Why mine is slightly a dog below 2500. Fucking bat outa hell at about 3k though

You're welcome. I need to get a set as well.

If ever you get the chance to pull the transmission, you be thoroughly surprised at how much the motor rocks back and forth. Gives an idea how much it'll rock side to side. Even watch the engine while someone rev's the engine. It torques to the passenger side a lot.

We turbo guys have had to deal with this during the construction of our kits so that the tubing doesn't repeatedly beat itself to death on the fender and coil bucket.
