Got out for a great hike this morning. Gorgeous weather here today, 50 degrees, calm and blue sky!

Fam shot was using my phone for a remote. The wifi link goes pretty far! could still take pics about 100 feet away.

Ok, so motor mount update time. Brett came over on Saturday to help out which was nice. Got the drivers side unbolted and the jack under the motor. Crawled under the truck with a light and realized there were lots of things in the way for the mount to come out easily. Got frustrated and just bolted the drivers side back together. Brett and I looked over the spot where the header has been hitting the coil bucket and it has definitly been self healing in a sense. The back of the bucket where it is contacting is a corner and could stand to be filed down some. I'm going to try and file it down a bit then paint the header and then see how it contacts.

If there is another nice day this week i'll get both sides un-bolted, unbolt the trans and see if the engine will go up far enough for the mounts to drop out the bottom. Should be just enough. Ugh, first time i said screw it and didnt finish a project on the truck.

 

Did you try removing the single 17mm nut, which holds the two halves together? If not, i suggest doing that first. The engine will easily lift off of the stud. Then you can remove the two halves individually.

 

Man that pup has grown up, as well.

 

Yea I got an extension and socket down there from the top but it was too tight for the angle the swivel head was at. Also tried with a ratchet wrench from the wheel well but couldn't get enough torque to it. Gonna have to get creative for that one. Getting it separated like that would help getting the mount out past the diff for sure. It felt a bit loose in a 17mm wrench by the way?

Yea jax is about 10 months and about 90# he's been such a great pup.

Will find out tomorrow, just picked it up today. Gotta wire it up yet and clean it up. Should be great for the pup. Really glad I got the opening windows, already used them today.
