Awesome man! glad you had some ready to roll :D The paint will probably just finish drying as they get their first scrapes down the trail to Shoshone lake in couple weeks on Monte's trip!

Thanks, i've seen a few trucks with that setup around TW and would go that route for sure if I was bent on keeping the front as is. I haven't run into any approach angle issues yet... so other things have been taking priority over a front bumper replacement. The next big thing is a full front bumper from Pelfrey :D I'll make it through the rest of this camp/wheeling season and then jump on finally getting the front setup.

I hope to make it down to CO for a shortish camp trip yet this season, your thread gave me lots of great ideas!

Eventually you'll need the additional approach angle, departure as well. Even with good bumpers sooner or later you're not gonna clear, nice part about bumpers is it don't matter, smack shit and climb up over it.

nice scrapage! Yea I did the rear HC bumper first since that was causing me more issues than the front. I went with CBI's rear since they're sort of in my backyard geography wise and I was able to get to their shop. I'm not sold on their front style, even though it's pretty similar to yours.

haha, you guy... I see what you did there

I definitely agree, especially after seeing their shop and checking out all their work first hand, plus they are all great guys! The bushmaster has been awesome, towed with it cross country, and it's seen a good amount of trail.

You're 4.56 geared right bob? What RPM do you turn with your 305's going 70 in 6th. Did you have 4.56's with tires smaller than your 305's?

Gotcha, it looked like he was running 285 dura's for a while with the gears.

Depending how Shoshone goes I may be convinced gears are a good idea especially since i'll be bumping up tire size next go-round. Ugh, the list... keeps growing! Good thing I have time on my side :)

I run 285's with 4.56's and love it, with an auto it feels spot on. Once you're in there you mind as well put an ARB up front too, my favorite performance mod so far.

i had 456 with the 285 duratracs as well...

i know real mph 77 is about 3000 rpm

so 70 would be around 2800-2900 maybe?

That's right I forgot you mentioned that on the phone. What gears did you do? Nitro/Youkon? did you go through ECGS or Yotamasters or someone else... Yea if i'm pulling it all i'll be doing a locker as well most likely. We're talkin a ways down the road for gears and locker tho.

the speedo difference with the manual is a pain in the but when you regear but definitely agree that re-gearing is great. especially when you move up past the 33s, you'll thank yourself later.

i wish i had $$ to do the ARB up front when i did mine. i'm trying to get the front locked coming up, but would have been nice to get the front diff setup and done all in one swoop. i hesitated because the increased chances of snapping cvs, but i think i'd gain greatly when snow wheeling. plus i want another shot at upchuck and a front locker will be key on that one :D
