I definitely need to get more comfortable before I let myself hit the dunes ha. You guys have paddle tires? I do have an extra wheel that came with the bike, just need a tire. Be fun to get the truck out on some big dunes too.

I think the 4th time I ever rode a dirt bike was out on the dunes. haha. I'm still a noob but I'm getting better. I just got a paddle on Friday, put it on and hit the sand all weekend.

Nice! You like the paddle then? I'll probably ride the sand a few times with a normal tire before hopping on a paddle just to see what it's like. I'll be doing lots more mountain trail riding than anything.

I felt like I got around pretty well without a paddle but I definitely get around better with one. The one perk to not having a paddle is your bike is almost impossible to intentionally wheelie without a paddle. With a paddle it's easy to accidentally wheelie it on any hill climb or bump in the sand. So I like to think of a knobbie as a built in safety factor for beginners.

You do realize dot tires are going to sacrifice a lot offroad? The best you'll get is a 50/50. I run streets Off-road and do just fine. Since it's your first bike, just learn on it

I disagree. There are some great off road tires that are DOT. Pirelli Scorpion XCMH's are 90/10's that are great off road tires.

I was worried about that, but after a lot of research and seeing things in person I think I decided on a good dirt tire. It's the Kenda K760 Trakmaster II. It's a 90/10

What do you run on your DRZ @Sacrifice

What?!? What is your version off "off-road" lol. If you were really off-road you would go no where.

This makes no since. You buy what is practically a dirt bike with mirrors, then throw Street tires on it, then take it off road......like seriously wtf????

haha, they're still round... and i'm sure its pretty sketchy but it's not impossible to hit trails with street tires like that.

Any of you guys running tubliss? I'm perfectly happy with my tubes but just curious.

@dakotasyota that looks like a nice tire. kind of like a paddle in the middle with those knobs stacked like that across.

You dont even drive yours! :D

I've got the engine cross over bar in the garage waiting to get mocked up and welded in once the weather gets nice. I test fit it the other day and its gonna require lots of inner fender cutting to make the hole for it to slide into haha

Yes I do almost every day. Igor that is

Oh yea? I can't wait to make mine. And spindle gussests. And alignment tabs. And new motor mounts and tranny mounts.

Not sure what I'll do with the rear axle and shocks yet.

Hurry though. I wanna know if it makes a big difference
