thanks for the winch input dudes. Yea I've read around about re-greasing and water sealing the solenoid...

no 35's for me. I decided i just really don't "need" to go that big. I don't wheel that hard or have the desire to get that crazy. 33's will be great for "me". Hell i've been a-lot of places with 31's... Also I just don't want to afford all the supporting mods for 35's.

TJ, no plans for those dates yet. :notsure: what my work load will be like this summer since I changed jobs... I know I wont have as much free time as i'd like :( but that's ok, gotta water the money tree!

I hear ya on the 35s. I would love them but really cant bring myself to cut the fenders and all that stuff PLUS need to spend 3k regearing!
EDIT: Check out Engo winches. Not many using them but very highly rated!

Warn Zeon 10 is what I think I would get if I were to buy another now. I have the 9.5XP-s and its great but I think the new Zeons are more waterproofed. The 9.5 is a power hungry mofo too but fast as hell.

    Exaxtly! Haha

One of the reasons I want to go URD is so that when/if I get the motor built up enough I can swap out the blower for a larger one and make even more power.

Superwerty had his TRD as built as they come and slapped on that URD kit with a larger blower and it already blew away his TRD setup and he hadn't even opened up the throttle for fear of blowing up his motor again. Haha

    interesting...

    Bit far for us tho..

Yea..power you'd never be able to use..i seen no point in doing a fully built 1gr and big blower if your a crawler..you'd be better off with a smaller blower for quicker boost for a better powerband.

But it's a supercharger so the boost is still pretty much instant and I won't use it crawling but I'll use it out in the sand. A lot of the URD guys push 400-450 HP at sea level. I would be happy with 400 to 500 at 5000 ft.

    no its not.

Not a URD charger. Boost is not instant and its still totally dependent on RPMs. A bigger blower from a SC still will have higher rpm bias then a smaller one. Plus URD blowers are just belt driven turbos..

    yea sadly..looks sweet

    This.

The URD brand sc kits utilize a centrifugal design which is not instant. As Blackdawg stated, its a belt driven turbo. It's the best compromise between turbo like top end with the low end snappiness of a gear style sc.

I've ridden in a buddy's xrunner with a properly dyno tuned URD kit and it's hard to find any fault with how it drives. Its got a beautifully broad mid/high end power curve....but definitely not instant power like a TRD SC.

For most people the TRD SC kit is plenty, and essentially plug and play. The beauty of it is its simplicity for an additional 70hp at the crank. Opening up the exhaust and intake frees up a lot more power from the kit as well. For me, it's still a PICKUP. I have to set my limits on how much power I want because at the end of the day, its gotta haul stuff, people, and get me from point A to point B...... without ever missing a beat.

I see. Werty made it sound like his power was still pretty much instant when he described his.

Personally if it isn't instant that just makes me want it even more. One of the reasons I like the idea of a Turbo is it takes a bit to start hitting boost. So when launching off the line you have a chance to get rolling before that power kicks in. If you have it instantly it's that much more likely you will just spin your tires off the line. haha

not necessarily. You pick the right turbo you'll have hardly any lag issues and be building boost before 2k easy.

Plus..wtf are you going to be doing launching off the line ever?

I don't have a whole lot of experience in this area, but it seems like to get fast boost out of a turbo you end up losing top end power due to it usually being a smaller turbo. The URD setup doesn't trade it off as much as a Turbo, so I can keep the top end, and not have as much turbo lag. Plus there are no good bolt on Turbo options yet and I don't really want to pay a shop to custom build the parts for me...

And just around town or whatever of course ;) haha Out at the dunes just where-ever I feel like it.
