 yup after so much crawling my right foot gets really heavy when it smooths out...and by smoothed out I mean not quite as rocky as what requires low low gear :D

You need to strap the front, you're flexing the front more than the shock has travel. Because of the heavier wheels and tires, the suspension is drooping out a little more than it normally should.

Could that be part of the cause of the heim wear on the lower shock mount Drew? My kings are non-extended versions and i'm totally stock lower and upper arms. Oh and my wheels are lighter than stock! 18lbs per wheel :D But yea, I really should strap it up

Tor, you're gonna be suprised how much they move on the track! after a few times marking our tires on the evo, we were like screw it, not even gonna balance the track set of tires and rims... Some old crusty track guy told us to just live with a little bit of bounce haha

I just went through your build page by page, yes that is the problem. Non extended coilovers should only be paired with stock upper and lower arms, but if you put a heavier wheel, or heavier tire,or both you will over extend the shocks. I noticed you have the DSM uca's. Those arms with the heims will yield a bit more travel, enough to pull on a non extended coilover basically like a yanking or jerking effect. Strapping the suspension before it's full droop would solve your problem.

I'll mark them and post them up for you to see. I feel enlightened by this. Looks like crusty track guy had some good knowledge to share. Lol

Woa, page by page!? I dont even know what's on what pages anymore!

I had the DSM desert products boxed uca's on for a while but took them off when i started running the MTR's cuz i could clear them easier with the stock arms and its all been dandy. The DSM UCA's are in my "Oh shit box" as backups for the trail. I will likely be doing a re-build on my coilovers and turning them into extended ones while im at it when i replace the lower hiems on em.

I'm in this huge dillema to go 2+ or just stay stock width and go stock length TC arms cuz stock wont last much longer with the amount of rock rash on em...ugh...

Thanks for the input Drew, what length strap would you recommend to get me in the ballpark before i go measuring?

I'd love to see it, also it's variable too, some rims are tighter than others....like...uhhhh....wont go there. :D

Yea, hang around the track enough and the fountains of knowledge will rain down upon you  It's all a matter of what your wallet can handle lol

I'm in the same boat. Been debating on what to do with my front end. Go with the TC +2 or do stock width setup.

Holy shit that's sexy. But if you go +2 I think you might have issues getting up some trails, like Morrison. Not sure but worth considering?

Definitely part of the dilemma Steve! There was some tight stuff Monte and I squeezed thru near Lander which the 2+ kit would have likely left me winching logs out of the way...

I'd go for a bypassed stock setup over a 2+ single coilover I think Alex. But I'll likely never run bypasses...likely ha. I like my width the way it is i guess. Have you ridden in or seen the setup 06HAOLE runs besides pictures, not sure how close you guys are geographically. I'll let ya know if I come across anything that makes my mind up for me! My recent foray into valving my rear end makes me think I can valve a stock length arm setup run just fine for me and likely outrun a less thought out 2+ setup...

Morrison wouldn't be a problem with a +2 kit. Not that narrow.

Cool. Up here I sometimes get into trails that get tight for me and I'm worried the +2 will make me a bit too wide. And my truck is a trail limo, so It's already hard getting around. And it's easier to have spare parts as they're all OEM length. Price wise it's cheaper too as I already have TC UCAs, I could just get the aftermarket LCA then get new coils + bypass.

the width increase is what stopped me recently from swapping to the AP 2" kit...ran through hideout canyon in moab and was already hanging half my tire off the side of the trail which got me thinking about trails around here...

hell just recently running red elephant, if i were 4" wider, wouldn't have made it through some spots...

having the beefed up lowers are nice though....i've definitely had some good hits to the LCAs so far and they have been doing their jobs very well

won the battle against this rock as it was caught on my lower...pushed it down with me until it broke in half

Nice! It is a big plus too that it's cheaper, and like you said Alex parts are easier to come by if something happens.

I've had my share of LT builds, so I can tell you from experience it's not worth it to go LT. I plan to get the race built TC lower arms to go with my TC uppers, so that's what I would do if I were you. I'm going to run bypass front and rear and with them properly tuned I'll give an LT truck a run for its money. As for straps, I think a 10" is the smallest strap. I might have a complete strap kit with clevis' s, 10" straps and weld on bung for the clevis's in my garage. Would only need to get the lower tab mounts, which I can get from kartek.

I've been drooling over the TC stock race lower as well. Likely what i'm gonna do at some point. I believe you about LT and since it's my dd too and I just wont get the moneys worth out of the LT I think.

Ordered new lower bearings for my shocks. I just hope I didn't do more damage than I think, guess i'll find out when i pull it if the whole rod end is jacked...

I faced the same dilemma, I ended up going +2 because the price isn't THAT much more. Especially because I needed new uppers and coilovers anyways. I plan on doing something very similar to your rear set up. Looks like it performs great
