I like the look of the scoop and the sport trim. Nothing wrong with the OR which does look like a stripped down model. Knowing that I didn't want the crawl control or issues if it breaks nor the repair bill, didn't care about the locker as I won't use it. To each their own.

We have to get to know these characters on TW...including me.

You can guess I'm not an instigator...but there are people who enjoy being that way.

I've dealt with a variety of personalities in the military...from all over the United States!

Online personalities aren't that difficult to figure out.

I agree that joking is fun....but know your audience. Only mess with those people you know...otherwise, you'll see the dialogue that leads down that negative alley.

I like it better with the scoop and found a killer deal on one for my OR. Not everyone's cup of tea but I wanted one so I got one.

I chose the Sport over the Off Road because of the suspension; I'm like 55% prefer no scewp, 45% the other way around..

Functional or not I give a hoot what anyone says. I get commented about it all the time. Some are jealous cause it did not come on their package. I don't hear any new Pro owners complaining about the scoops. To me a Pro is a OR with the Sport package. just saying.

It didn't come on my OffRoad (duh LOL) but I wanted one on it so I did it. Only the Tacoma people know LOL.

I've not test driven an OR so I can't speak to the OR suspension for street driving.

Seems that street driving would require more responsive cornering suspension...but I'm not an expert.

Here are two angles of my Sport parked next to a gem of a truck at Indian River, Delaware!

She's come along way at the front end since May 14, 2021.

I've driven both the Off Road and the Sport; the Sport has a firmer and more responsive suspension; fortunately the only "Off Roading" I'll be doing with my truck will be across the lawn with a load of mulch. If I was going to be spending time out in the back country I would definitely opt for the Off Road as I suspect the Sport suspension will beat you to death on the bumpy stuff.

I bought a used Sport simply because that was the best deal available at the time and did find that the glare was annoying in my northern latitude (Seattle) where the sun is often low. It was an easy problem to remedy with a matte black vinyl scoop decal.

Would I have bought an OR if one were available for a similarly good deal? Sure — for the A-TRAC though, not for the difference in a scoop.

Plus, just throw a hidden lightbar in it if you want a “functional” scoop.

But I can’t imagine wasting the effort to change the hood one way or the other. As someone else commented, life is short.

If I could've optioned my Pro without a scoop I would have. Not gonna go through the trouble of swapping it out though.

Sport suspension is pretty impressive. There are lots of curvy roads in my neck of the woods and it takes them without leaning. Very nice!

I spoke too soon. Now with daylight hours changing my drive to work at 7:30am has become brutal with being blinded. I drive right into the direction of the sun in the morning and it must be at a certain height in the sky around 7:30am right now and the glare is bad. I’m thinking I’m going to look into possibly one of the black hood scoop decals.

thankfully it doesn’t bother me at all the rest of the day.

Yes, precisely what I've been trying to say; the glare won't bother you..., until it does.

It's a fake, non functional, poser scoop... shame on Toyota for even considering it. They should have made it functional.
They do look nice though... :anonymous:

edit: full discloser. my truck has a... bull bar :crapstorm:

If you haven't a thick skin, this probably isn't the place one should be. Imo, there are some here that have no sense of humor. That said you need to pick your battles.
