Chrome on other vehicles surrounding me is the single biggest glare factor on the roads I travel.

But not to worry! I have drivers skill to deal with the scoop coming into the right angle with the sun to do the following to mitigate:

    • Shift my head in a slightly different angle so the glare doesn't hit my eye
    • Use the brim on my hat to shield my eyes
    • Take a grip of the top of the steering wheel and use my fingers as glare shield
    • Narrow my eyes, which makes me look kinda edgy and cool
    • Wear sunglasses

*NB: This is a Friday answer, smile friends

Is there only glare on lighter color vehicles? I get no glare with my Darker blue Tacoma Sport and I live in a region where it’s usually very sunny almost every day.

    Good point.

I don't see a glare on my Midnight Black Sport.

I've seen it on my Midnight Black Sport twice in 3 years. Held my hand up until I changed direction. You have to be going in the right direction at the right time of day with bright sun.

I wouldn't say they suck, used for the right application their fine. They just look stupid on pickup trucks.

I like the scoop. Makes the truck feel more beefy during driving. Wish it were functional.

All this talk of "functionality". lol

I suppose it's because my experience with functioning scoops is nil. (Which isn't a bad thing)

I'm surprised no one has posted making it a functional skewp. (I haven't searched to see if its been done)

    It's more aesthetics than anything.

I like the new TRD style Grill that comes with the TRD Lift...albeit with gray/silver letters.

It makes for a more aggressive look than say a hood that doesn't have a skewp. But, that's just my opinion.

EDIT: It helps to have TRD Skid and OEM LED Headlights as well...

I think that’s right. Maybe they should add a scoop on top of the existing scoop.

I'd like to see how that functionality is routed to incorporate the intake of air!

Lol, it's all astestics brother!! And if you choose a Sport over an OR simply for the scoop, you clearly value astestics over functionality which is fine.

But I got to give Toyota credit here. They knew exactly what they were doing and who they were targeting when they slapped that inverted pooper scooper on top of the hood.

Oh definitely need the scoop, it looks menacing. I see women snatching up their children and quickly moving away when I roll into the mall parking lot. Men are nervous, jealous and refuse to make eye contact.

    It's all good.

    Guilty! lol

I'm not a "Rock Crawler" per se, so I had no interest in the "Functionality" of an OR.

To make this {seem} as a competition with remarks to downgrade those because of their decision is child's-play. (Said with a sense of seriousness but also disappointment)

I continue to read through threads like this and have my own opinion about how people post.

You're status is safe with me...lol!
