I've been trying to find a super white scooped hood for a while now with no success. Can't seem to find anyone interested in swapping. Has anyone bought one from a dealer? If so, what did it cost you? I'm anxious to get a one on my truck but I just had a quote from a dealer of $1800 and that's not happening!

I didn't add up all the components but the scoop is another $71? Paint is 300 or 400. Can't be that hard to install. 1800 seems high but that's me. A lot of pieces should be interchangeable with existing hood. Shouldn't have to buy it ALL again

You're in the 3 gen section.

Your profile shows you have a '12.

What model are you actually looking for?

    I think you're right.

And I see he's been in new member status since 8/13.

He needs to come out and play more. :D

Yes I am looking for a 3rd gen hood. I apologize for not changing my username when I bought a new truck o_O.

I would love to see that Craigslist post, any shipping cost is well worth it compared to $1800!

I'm going to have to check out the after market hoods I guess. Wanted to stick with Toyota parts but not at that cost.

    Thanks guys!

You're right, I don't come out and play often. Honestly this forum is awesome and 99% of the time I don't even need to ask because the answer is already here somewhere! I've been going full bro since I got this truck so maybe I'll try to make an appearance more often. Thanks!

Not your user name so much (although there is a way to do that to I think) but the bottom line in your little side profile, says 12 DC Sport.

You can change that to your new ride easily under user profile, one line vehicle description.

Write about that fancy new rig along with the picture!

Hey quick question for ya...I got a sticker with a barcode, looks like part number, on the back of my diff...not unusual I understand, but it's a fairly clean paper based sticker. Bought the buggy 6 weeks ago and I have put slightly less than 2k miles (look at that unmetricized kanadian eh?) in a Canadian late winter...and the truck has about 18k miles. Methinks the sticker is in way way too clean condition to be original. Truck was Toyota dealer purchased and certified. Would this perhaps indicate TSB of sorts applied? I know you've had work on yours, wondering if I post a pic could get your opinion.

If so, I'll post elsewhere cuz I don't wanna hijack this thread from OP

I'd post the question in the rear diff howl thread this sounds like a new one to me. Haven't heard it before
