Harden your bark, there are storms on the horizon.

They are nice guns. Can't go wrong with a Garand variant. No, its not the most accurate .223 out there, but for casual shooting it does great. I have a S.S. ranch rifle with a factory Ruger grey laminate stock...she's a beaut! I can hit a groundhog out around 200 yards with it using iron sights...which is plenty of range in my neck of the woods. Somewhat tricky to break down the first time to clean...but its easy once you see how everything comes apart. I'd love to have its big brother....the M14...maybe someday.

I'm looking at getting a Mueller APV for my 10/22. They're $120-ish and supposed to work quite well on these guns.

I got a Barska 8-24X50 illuminated target dot on my Ultimate 10/22 and I like it a lot. Also have a red dot Barska (ACOG style) on my SR-22 and it works great as well, even in direct sunlight.

If you got more money to spend buy better but for a 22LR they work great for my needs.

I wouldn't use a Barska or similar econo type optic on a larger caliber gun, as they could fall apart but a .22 has almost no recoil.

No, your mistaken, the objective lens has NOTHING to do with FOV, field of view, that's in the first lens set, the ocular. Go to any makers web site and compare for your self, same model scope with different size objectives equal same FOV.

well let me put it this way, the shitty 34mm objective on the last scope had a tiny field of view compared to the 50mm on there now.

Now that, I understand, and am guessing the two scopes were two different models or makes? Correct?
