I recently installed a Kenwood ddx470 using the stock radio brackets and the 2009+ scosche kit from crutchfield (came free with the radio)

The only problem I am having is with the trim ring, it just wont fit deep enough to snap in place. Has anyone had success with this dash kit? I chose to use the stock brackets because they are metal. Do the plastic ones hold the head unit in deeper than the stock brackets?

On another note, where can I get some replacement panel clips? Preferably metal ones, the plastic ones suck!

I just installed a new HU in my 2010. I ran into the exact same problem. I just removed the metal skin and installed it after carefully lining the unit up with the brackets. I have had no issues with it. Seems solid, no movement or abnormal noises.
