Even never having heard his voice, somehow I believe you. He's got the look, and the name to match it..

My 2016 Taco was made in Texas and was a good truck, but RAM trucks are 5 years ahead of any Toyota Truck in terms of tech and capability.

I think the build quality is pretty darn good on the Tacoma. Mine was built in Mexico and I haven't noticed a single defect thus far.

The real issue to me is weak engineering in certain areas like NVH. I think it's pretty obvious Toyota cut some costs here. Some of this could be compounded by the fact that Toyota did to the Tacoma what Boeing did with the 787... tried to outsource a lot of the component design/mfg to other companies all over the US and world. This turned out to be a big headache for Boeing, and I think Toyota's feeling a bit of the pain with the Tacoma... maybe not in terms of sales, but I think the Tacoma name took a reputation hit for overall refinement.

yeah i know tons of people with rams and most understand that quality issues and component failure is part of the ram lifestyle. Not talking about technology im talking reliability

When I got my Tacoma, where it was made was not a consideration. When I found out mine was made in Texas, I think I said "Oh that's nice" and went on about my day.

But if workers at the Texas plant lost their jobs because of this then I can understand people being a little upset about it.

Where is the 2019 Nissan Frontier made?
All 2019 Frontier models are assembled at the Canton Assembly Plant in Canton, Mississippi, continuing Nissan's tradition of American made trucks designed for the American consumer. A Nissan pickup was also the first vehicle to roll off Nissan's first U.S. manufacturing site in Smyrna, Tennessee in 1983.

    Nailed it. Lol.

    Also-

Some things made in Mexico SUCK. That’s because they are Mexican manufacturer ripoffs of something else. Mexican cigarettes, Mexican firecrackers, knockoff Oakleys.

In this case, it’s still Toyota, with the same QC as it was a few hundred miles away. Not the same thing.

My 2008 Tacoma manufactured in Baja California still runs like new so does my neighbors 2015 TRD Sport. The Toyota people in Baja are just as certified and knowledgeable as the Toyota people in San Antonio PERIOD.
