I discovered this today as I was washing my truck. I don’t recall hitting anything and there is no damage around the drivers side fog light - not even a scuff. Mother trucker. Maybe someone is mad at me and I don’t know it haha

Edit: anyone know how much it will cost to fix? Can you replace the glass or is it one unit?



Edit 2: The culprit was a piece of scrap metal that managed to hit my left fog light perfectly without scratching anything else. It was still in the bottom of the bumper. I will replace the light once and then I will just buy the plain panel to cover the hole bc I never use the damn things anyway haha

That's a really weird way to attempt a CAN Bus theft.

 

Daughter had the same happen on a mustang. We just assumed road debris but there was no damage outside of the fog light. Weird.

 

no, the bulb is broken and still in there.

 

Same thing happen twice on my old gen1 road debris.

 

One of mine broke. I have a spare if you want to pay shipping?

 

Had that happen a few times to me with different cars. Sucks. My guess is a single unit.

 

That's why I always applying 3m protection film over my fog lights.
without it it's only matter of time to happen.
And yes, it's a whole unit.

They pickup rocks n debris easily, I doubt it’s a human enemy.

 

yep, I found a Toyota oem left fog light for $148 which is $3 cheaper than the right side for some strange reason.

 

Never makes sense to me when sides are different prices.

 

Time for an upgrade

 

Sorry this happened to you, on the other hand things could be much worse.

I would take a broken, bolt in fog light over paint/body damage any day.

 

Time to start cutting for a real bumper and winch.

 

Somebody got me at the airport a couple years ago. This one didn't seem like an accident either but maybe it was a rock or something

 

Yea, far as I know it’s a one piece unit from factory, (maybe can buy a used off fle-bay) that sucks ….but on the bright side of that no time then better for an fog upgrade??..…

 

Ughh that’s brutal!

 

I never use the things so an upgrade would be useless haha.
