I've got a 2019 SR5 and I can't find a way to get the navigation to display an overhead map ("MapStream?") like Google Maps does. It shows turn by turn directions only (supposedly called "TurnStream"). Sometimes, it shows a big map with the entire route on it, which isn't helpful at all.

I read that you need to have your phone plugged in via Bluetooth AND USB for this to work, but nothing changes if I use a USB cable (besides it charging).

I have the "Plus" system (uses tethered connection, your phone's GPS), not the "Premium" (which comes with pre-loaded maps and works as a standalone unit). Can't seem to find any pictures on the net of a non-premium Entune 3.0 running this "MapStream" mode.

It sounds to me like there should be a MapStream mode for the "Plus" system from what I'm reading here:
    https://www.toyota.com/content/entune/pdf/Entune_QRG.pdf (Pg 35)

Am I an idiot and missing something? Is Toyota/Entune lying about it's capabilities? I understand that Google Maps will work better because of traffic stuff, etc, but I'd like to be able to get this working with a Map display just so I have that option. I have an Android phone.

Has anyone gotten this "MapStream" mode to work on their 2019 Tacoma with the Plus system (or any Tacoma with any non-Premium system)?

    Thanks in advance.

Looks like you're right. I tried to pull up the 2.0 guide and there's no mention of moving maps or anything like that at all. That's a real shame. Car tech is really over a decade or so behind other consumer tech. I'll have to stick to using my phone and Google Maps (probably a better service anyway).

As far as mounting phones goes, anyone have a great suggestion? Magnetic? In the air vent? On top of the dash?
