I started ripping out the shelf where the Goal Zero went. Actually, i pretty much finished. This is the only pic I took though, as it was like 9:30 when I finished last night. These cabinets are NOT made to come apart. Built way better than expected. On the rear and right side in this pic, the shelf sits on those wooden blocks screwed to the wall, but on the front edge and left side, there are grooves in the vertical plywood that the shelf sits in, and is glued into. The cabinets are built BEFORE going in the camper (confirmed with someone who has been to factory). I thought about removing the full cabinet, but that woulda been a pain and don't really like the idea of removing the screws from the structural panels.

Next up, I need to remove the top of the cabinet that spans from left to right so I can drop the Bluetti down to the floor level through where the shelf used to be... This seriously was not for the faint of heart. Took a lot of cutting, prying, cussing, and breaking tiny pieces apart with plyers... Could very easily break/damage cabinets and shelves around it. And obviously... there is no putting that shelf back in, lol.

What's the overall goal here. Making room for a larger battery bank?

Had the windows open and the fan going. I'd go with pretty much no time at all. Definitely had a few splatters to wipe down on the window frame and counter, but not any worse than when we use the propane stove top.

Finally got the Bluetti AC200 Max in place. This was even more of a chore than I thought it would be. Didn't realize the top of the cabinet was notched and glued to the vertical front plywood of the cabinet. No way to get it off without destroying it so I had to cut a hole in the top. I messed up a bit on my line, obviously, but oh well. I'm no wood worker hahaha. Not seen in pics, I drilled 4 one inch holes in the plywood wall between the Bluetti and Toilet storage area to increase air flow to side of Bluetti. I also have a small block of wood keeping it away from the wall on the right to allow air flow, as the cooling fans exit the left and right sides just below the handles. And no, you can't get the Bluetti back out without tools. At least not how I did it.

The Bluetti hadn't been used since our last trip and was still at 100%. I used it to run the jig saw and only brought it down 2%. Plugged in the solar and was getting 123 watts. Charged back up quickly.

So the Bluetti did awesome on a 4 night trip down at the Dunes. We had brought our generator figuring we'd need to recharge, but NOPE! Even without ideal positioning of the camper/solar panel it consistently got back up to 93-95% each day. This included running it down to about 73% at one point after running the air fryer to bake some meatloaf! The kettle was used numerous times, and the electric griddle once for breakfast sandwiches. And of course, we had the Dometic 75 liter fridge running at 32 degrees keeping food and drinks nice and chilled.

Oh yeah, and the bed mat made a great patio, too. Helped keep the sand a little more under control.

Today is the one year anniversary of owning our Scout Yoho. We've spent 39 nights in it so far, and loved every one of them.

Last week I dropped off the camper at the factory in Yakima, WA to have some work done. They wanted to figure out an intermittent leak I have (2x in one year only), and swap some rusting hardware for me. Sounds like the early models could get water in the extrusions, so they've started adding weep holes to make sure the water can escape. They replaced al the end caps with new ones (with weep holes) thinking that might have been my issue. They resealed and re-installed my door frame, added another rubber seal to it, sealed the window I installed myself (surprised they took the time since it wasn't even a product of theirs), they recaulked a bunch of the external seams, installed a new, improved skylight, and even cleaned up my messy caulking job I did on one of my clearance lights. O yeah, and they replaced my propane door with one with a second latch that will hold tighter against the bulb seal. I feel they went above and beyond anything I would have expected. And on top of that, they originally figured they'd need to keep it for a month, it was done in 2 days!!

I know some folks have had issues with their Scouts, obviously I've had a few of my own, but being an early adopter I'm not surprised at all. They've made a ton of improvements just in the couple years they've been in production, and have taken good care of me. But I'm lucky, I'm here in WA state, only 2 hours and 15 minutes from their factory. Those early adopters on the east coast, I wish you all the best and hope your campers treat you well! *crosses fingers*

    Almost forgot!

I entered my truck in the Overland Truck Show tomorrow in Snoqualmie, WA. If anyone is interested in checking out a Scout Yoho on a 2nd Gen Taco in person, they are more than welcome to stop in and say hi. I'll be there from 11AM to 5PM. And supposedly there is other stuff going on too, so could be fun for the whole family!

They had asked back at the rally if they could use the images from my TW postings. I said yes. Not realizing they meant my buddy Kyle's photos! Lol. He was happy to see them online though. I had them give him credit and they updated within a couple minutes. He actually worked for them when he took the pics, I think.

Looks like a cool setup - been thinking about something like it for a ski resort dirtbag-ish rig.

thoughts on E-rated tires for the Tacoma scout combo is it overkill?

I feel much safer knowing I have the E-rating. I mounted the new tires before picking up the camper, but it was easy to see how much stiffer the tires are. For example, when airing down for sand driving and such, I need to air down far further before getting as much sidewall flex as I want. I'm sure this translates over well to driving with the camper on, as it should help keep the tires from wallowing as much in cornering.

I recently loaded my camper on my dad's gen 1 Colorado with SL tires at full rated pressure. The tires were horribly squat. Luckily I was only moving my camper from my driveway to my backyard.

Loaded up the Scout Thursday night so we could take off immediately after work Friday. Having the camper 95% loaded all the time makes it a breeze to get ready.

Finally had a chance to upgrade the stock tires. I'm really happy with them.
The tires are the Goodyear Wrangler ULTRA TERRAIN AT 265/75R16 load range E. They are 3 peak snow rated and are similar to the Goodyear DuraTracs.

You are one of the few on TacomaWorld AND the Scamp Campers Owners group. :)

If I were to want a slightly less aggressive tire, I'd definitely give these a go. I like the tires with the extra tread on the sides like that. Just looks bestter, IMO.
