So I got VTX wheels a few months ago. I have had them for 5k miles now and got them installed by Discount Tire. The shop that originally installed them did a great job and didn’t scratch any of them. Went today to rotate and rebalance and....they scratched them. All 4 wheels have scratches on the top of the the lug holes. I do wheel my truck so they will end up getting scratched, is it worth the hassle to go back try to have them replace them? It does bother me since they are newish and I paid good money for them. Hmmmm...

You say it doesn’t bother you but you are contemplating going back to fight for replacements? Which is it?

If you wheel they will get scratched and nicked up any way. So if it was me I wouldn’t care

What I'm not getting is why a 'wheeler' would buy purdy wheels when they know their destiny.

Then that's what the conversation should be about with the manager.

I would bring it to their attention and maybe get a discount or gift card for future services, but to ask for new wheels when you know you will be scratching them anyway is kind of a dick move, just sayin. They do need to know the quality of work going out, but don't be that "entitled" guy that thinks he is owed brand new wheels to replace ones you already have 5k miles on.

They won’t replace them, so it’s a waste of your time.

I understand the frustration, and as I said, the management needs to know what happened. I would let them know you are not satisfied with the service you received and see what they offer you. Don't expect their offer to be enough to buy new wheels, but I bet you can get up to 20 percent off your next transaction with them.

My tire shop that I use (the owner is a very pretty woman with nice tits) screwed up two wheels on my 914-6 Porsche.

She wrote me a check for $560.00 to get them refinished, She was pissed at her guys, but I doubt she ever docked them for their shoddy work.

I felt bad dunning her for the money, but she did the right thing. I'd at least ask.....?

We can’t answer this for you. Only you can determine if it’s worth the hassle.
