My 2018 has a static sound coming from the dash. It’s around the speaker area on both sides. Not the cover cuz I removed the covers and still makes noise when I hit the slightest bump.

I just removed the dash speakers and found that there’s foam in a couple places under the speaker where the speaker connector could be making the slightest contact with it, causing a scratching static noise. I ripped out most of the foam and will see over the next few days if it helps.

Up to this point I’ve tried stuffing felt and foam just about everywhere in the dash including the A pillar. Pretty sure I duplicated the sound with the foam under the speaker. We’ll see.

Anyone else have other solutions? Seems like a frequent issue. Not happy with Toyota right now.
