SCS Blemished Wheels

When you getting those bad boys installed? Looking forward to seeing pics. I can not make up my mind what color I want to go with on my black Taco.

 

It will probably be a while. I've got 30K on my 265 Terra Grapplers and they still have plenty of life. When they are shot i'll CMC and wrap these guys in 285's.

Does anyone have any close up pictures of the blemishes on their wheels? From what I’ve read most of them are barley noticeable that they are blems at all. Just wanted to get an idea before I decide to purchase a set.

 

Honestly i cant seem to find the flaws. Either I'm blind or its not noticeable

 

I noticed some pin holes in the powder coat (I'd assume that's the finish) in some of mine. They were on the back side of the wheel, so you'd never see them. A few of them had no blemish that I could tell. It's nice to see a company that has a critical eye for the parts they make.

 

All of my last F5 set were blems, I looked hard, with a light and a damn magnifying glass. The only things I could find were in the bolts holes... Maybe that was it.

Is this is a situation where you pretty much get what you get or do we have the ability to see pictures of the sets before shipping? I'm interested and am by no means set on having a "perfect" wheel. It sounds like a lot of people can barely notice anything but just wondering how it works.

 

You get what you get. A blemish from SCS would be top shelf for many other brands. You'll likely get more defects on any wheel the first time you get a tire mounted to it or rotate the tires than a blemish will have straight from SCS.

 

You can see my pic above.. but honestly i spent like 30+ minutes inspecting each wheel and i couldn't find a blemish. After reading a lot of the pages in this thread it seems like for most people there is very minimal issues with the wheels.

Having bought hundreds of wheels over 30+ years of off roading and desert racing... SCS impresses us with their quality and service!

I’m looking for a set of F5’s that I can powdercoat to an anthracite gray. Anyone putting theirs up for sale any time soon? I know Vin offered the color I’m looking for a couple years back...
