Typically, at stock height, you're limited to 265/75/16.

I believe this customer just has billies up front, but it should look similar to this. Mud flaps needs to be taken off and some minor trimming on the liner right behind the front bumper.

If you don't want to trim anything, you'll need to stick with the stock size tires or stay at the stock overall tire height. There's really no way around it.

I think it comes down to your springs. I've seen people with newer trucks running a 265/75 with no trimming. My 06 needed a small bit of trimming on the inner fender.

i'm on stock suspension with these wheels and 265/75 tires. the only time i rub the wheels is if i am backing out of my driveway at near full lock and going over the asphalt curb at the end of my driveway. so far since i have had these on, this is the only time i've heard them rub, and i have not trimmed anything. (not running mudflaps up front anymore either)

As Dante pointed out, there's very minor rubbing in certain situations if you choose to go with 265/75/16 and not trim. A little bit of trimming will most likely take care of this issue. If you absolutely will not trim and do not want any rubbing at all, you definitely should stick to the stock height, 265/70/16.

Andrew and Andrei, thank you guys for posting the pics. Both trucks are looking sharp!:oldglory:

Thanks Matt. How do you like that deep dish look? That's a great tire choice with the 3.5" backspacing on a 2nd gen. Shoot the rear hub with some semi-gloss black and you're golden;).

I just got my new SCS F5s mounted and I am very pleased I went this route. Had been running Nitto Terra Grappler LT285/65/R18 (E) on chrome XD Diesels. While the XDs looked nice and when clean were very sharp, upkeep was a pain in the ass and I figured winter driving would take it's toll on them way too soon.

The more I looked at these F5s with 3.5" back space the better I liked them, clean, simple, easy to maintain and I knew the gunmetal grey would look great on my silver Taco.

Started to go back with 285, but in the end figured between mileage, rubbing, cost and going to a C rated tire the LT265/75/R16 were the way to go, and I am glad I did.

Now running a set of Duratracs and so far so good, right off the bat I could tell the truck rode much better, dare I say car like. Could also tell the combo weighed a lot less, looking forward to some improvement in MPG.

One other benefit has been truck handling, at interstate speeds it is less 'twitchy', handling is much smoother than before. I think this is less about the tire and more about the size.

As to noise, while I would by no means call the Duratacs a noisy tire, it is a bit louder than the Nittos were.

Here is a pic of the truck before...

Here it is with the new F5s, sorry for the crappy pic, snapped this quickly on the way home, noon lighting a bit harsh. Will get some better ones up later.

Last but not least, not only are the looks and quality of the SCS wheels outstanding, so was the customer service. Vin was kind enough to answer several questions and returned a number of emails, not to mention a nice little personal touch in the box, great guy to work with. If you like any of the wheels SCS offers, you can buy with confidence.

Thank you for the positive feedback Jerry! I really like your setup. I just picked up a 2nd gen Tacoma and I'm currently running the Stealth 6 wheels, but I love the deep dish look of the F5 w/3.5" bs. I'm thinking of making the switch after seeing yours:D.

Here is a comparison shot of matte gunmetal and our matte gray. You can also see the deep dish comparison as well.

Somehow I missed that the matte gray was even available, might well have gone that route for my silver truck.

Not complaining though, LOVE the ones I have!

Got the matte gray f-5's with 4.5" backspace installed! These wheels look great BUT it has bit of a taupe'ish colored hue to it. Not sure if its the lighting or i just don't know what matte gray is supposed to look like. Sorry for crooked pictures, was holding my dog while taking the pictures.
