I was torn between the 16x8 -25 and 17x9 -38 but going by the pics, it looks like the 17x9 -38 stick out quite a bit more compared to the 16x8 -25. I am planning to run these on a 3rd gen with 33" tires and bilstein 5100s. Can I run these without having to do a CMC?

Can you put center caps in these. I ask because I have some TRD center caps and these wheels in 17x9 3.5 BS have appeared for sell local.

    General News

In the last few years, other wheel companies have been trying to follow suit to replicate what we've been able to carve out for ourselves in the off-road/truck segment. We're always trying to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to wheel designs and the overall fit and finish of our products. Being able to maintain that high level of quality and meeting the high expectations of our customers is an on-going challenge that we pride ourselves on.

SCS has decided to step our wheel game up, dig into our pockets, and invest into new technology. We are super excited to announce that we are transitioning the complete line to be produced using "FLOW FORMING" technology. This is the most advanced method of production short of offering full-forged wheels. The flow forming process of the barrel offers similar attributions to that of a forging process. After casting, the wheel is placed on a machine where hydraulic rollers and heat are used to put a large amount of pressure on the inner barrel. As the wheel spins, the pressure of the roller stretches the alloy to form the remaining width of the wheel. This process changes the mechanical properties and grain structure of the cast rim area to have better strength and stiffness. All of this will result in a wheel that is generally lighter and stronger at any given load rating when compared to gravity casting, high and low pressure, as well as tilt casting.

Flow forming wheels have been around for years, but they were mainly offered for sport cars and sport sedans. They do come at a premium due to the benefits and quality of the finished product. This means there will be a price bump in 2019, but for the rest of 2018, pricing will remain the same as we transition. Final pricing has not been decided yet.

We want to be the first truck wheel company to have a complete line of flow forming wheels. We encourage you guys to do your own research on this technology. It's really cool stuff!

Sorry for you seeing this twice- first saw this post in the Ray10 Thread ( I follow all the SCS threads because I like your business and look of your wheels so much). I wont post this in the other threads of yours but I think it's relevant cause I F5s are my favorite wheels.

As someone who has been eying SCS and debating if changing from stock is worth it... and LOVE all the looks-- this is great news and sad news at the same time. I love the looks of SCS (especially F5s), and I love how they are lighter than stock (especially F5s) which are two hard selling points. The fact that I am still fairly content with my stock wheels and that they cost me no more money is a plus. So this new technology is amazing, and your current price point on aftermarket wheels is amazing. I'm SURE your increase in technology will increase sales if your price point stayed the same, but I'm afraid what will happen if you raise your prices.

Either way, still in the market for F5s but one thing I'd like to know is if I'd be guaranteed the new technology with a purchase. I would definitely purchase 17" wheels but not sure if 8.5 or 9".

Anyway, my 2 cents. Happy new technology, sad higher prices. You get what you pay for. Gotta weigh the pros/cons.

    EDIT:
Also- can we get an update of the wheel weights for the F5s?

Sorry, but we do not have an ETA on the 17x8.5 size yet. I will have to estimate January or so.

Does the January time frame mean that prices will go up due to the new technology?
