3rd gen runners are a little different than 3rd gen tacos

I'm still trying to find some good pictures of someone with a 3rd gen and the -25 offset that can take some pictures with a 33 from the back to see how poke they have. Anyone?

Ha! I've just seen some side shots that make it look like the -25 will stick out further on the 3rd gen than the 2nd gen. I had the F5s in -25 on my 2nd gen and just want to make sure they stick out similarly. Had them on my 100 series too and wished I had more poke!

They will not stick out as much on a 3rd gen as they do on a 2nd gen, but they're still going to be badass :anonymous:.

Oh I know they will be. Ha! So not as much poke as the 2nd gen really?

I suppose I was just surprised...let me explain. Looking up the factory wheel specs the 2nd gen has a +30 offset for the factory wheels while my 3rd gen has a +25. So I was thinking based on the platforms being extremely similar, the same in some ways, the offset of the 3rd gen would mean the factory wheels would “stick out” 5mm further. So I was thinking if the platforms were similar this could potentially mean the -25 F5’s on the 3rd gen could potentially sit 5mm further out than the 2nd gen based on how they came from factory...

    ...obviously not the case.

As mentioned above, the wheel base will differ from the Tacoma and the 4Runner.

But to answer your question, i'm running a 285/75/16, some well work needed to be done to fit these such as hammering the pinch weld and front inner trim cutting. 3" lift on all 4 corners and some caster adjustments to the UCA's to bring the wheel forward. This is for a 3rd gen 4runner application.

    Hope this helps.

If you're thinking to get these wheels in a size closer to stock BS, I would suggest going with either a 16x8 +0 (4.5 BS) or 17x8.5 -10 (4.3 BS). The 16x8 -25 offset is an aggressive size and modifications will be needed to fit and turn full lock with articulation.

Yes, I’m quite aware. I’m not looking for factory specs, just looking to see how much poke vs my previous Tacoma of a different generation with the same wheel.

It depends on the tire. I would refer back to their min and max rim width requirements per size. I'm sure you could run a SL 265/70/17 tire on a 17x9...
