That's his point, a lot of people aren't and won't. SCS is missing out on a lot of business by operating this way and it makes no sense. They could collect a large pre-order and use economies of scale to reduce their cost. I don't see any gain by not accepting people's money

Crazily some people don't want to their business to be the next big thing, but would rather have it be just big enough to fund their lifestyle.

Once you take people's money for pre order they own you. Think about how much people bitch about SCS not keeping enough inventory moving to fulfill everyone's desires. Now imagine how much people will bitch if they already paid and are waiting for their order to be filled. SCS would have their phones, email, and this thread blowing up nonstop with, "wheres my order? Update on my order? I'm thinking of doing a charge back because I haven't heard back in a few hours? Can anyone tell me the ETA for my order? Lead time is supposed to be 4 weeks and it is now 3 weeks and 2 days with no update? Can I get photo updates of my wheels being made and shipped out? Are they on the container ship yet?" You can ignore people bitching and moaning about when the new inventory will arrive, but you can't ignore customers who paid money for pre-orders.

Same reason @MESO doesn't play that game. Make a quality product, sell what you got, and go back to make some more. Keeps the stress to a minimum, and keeps the vendors focused on the REAL task at hand which is making a quality product and providing actual awesome post-sale customer service instead of keeping impatient nagging customers happy till their order arrives.

I want you to know that I stood up to applaud this post. My wife and children think I’m an imbecile, but that’s kinda normal anyway.

My exact thoughts as soon as they were mounted on lol. I’d should just get it over with and take them off now, huh?

You can make some cuts to the bottom inside edge if you want to keep most of them but other wise you should gently remove them before they get broken and start flapping.
