Sorry, this is my first wheel purchase ever, just trying to figure out everything I need to ask the garage to do when I get them mounted and balanced. :D

No...Am serious. I thought about it after a little too. And figured that they must or that I was going to just have to live with the light being on. It is a great question.
I had other questions too about measurements that another member answered for me.
I totally understand where you are.

@DSwarP Wonder if their site may have some more info on it in regards to the TPMS.

I looked, didn't see anything though. Maybe I missed it. Also, this wheel isn't on the site yet, so it wouldn't necessarily be relevant information. Unless they said something like "all our wheels abc and xyz".

I would assume it wont be an issue with the TPMS, I didnt have an issue with my other rims. But, you know what they say about assuming......

Last question... I have to get them to take the TPMS out of my old wheels and put them in or else they have to get reprogrammed at the dealership or something? This is all info I discovered this morning. :annoyed:

Correct, or buy new if you want to keep the old wheels as spares or sell them fully. I believe any shop can reprogram them, mine did on my old set.

Yea, any tire shop can do it, or you can buy the tool for $20 off Amazon if you plan to swap wheels for different purposes (winter set maybe?). Although some new cars can store/sync with two sets of wheels just for that purpose, but you still have to code the second set in. I'm not sure if the Tacoma stores two sets or not.

Also, my experience with Toyota is that they only like the Toyota specific TPMS and are hit/miss with the universal ones, so just make sure your tire shop gets the right ones.

I usually go to Discount Tire because they're nation wide and are real good at dealing with these things and any problems that come up (e.g. Need to resync new sensors), I've just had a lot of good experiences with them.

The bolded information is incorrect: the tool to learn or re-sync the TPMS on any Toyota is proprietary and costs North of $1500.00. I looked into this when I was looking to get a TPMS tool to do the TPMS on my Corvette. The local Chevy Dealership couldn't quite grasp the idea of the TPMS Re-Learn procedure or when it needed to be done. I was trying to purchase one tool to do the Tacoma, the Corolla, and the Vette. The Vette was easy Cub-Pro about $20.00 shipped from Tire Rack. The Toyotas $1500+.

If you're worried about the light you could always do the PVC Tube trick.

    Not quite true.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/labor-rate-for-techstream-work.392542

However, you do need to know the TPMS ID codes beforehand.

I'm assuming they do, they do in all of SCS's other wheels
