Hey, thanks a bunch. I agree that the white trucks do kinda look like work trucks, but I suppose I like the simplicity of black and white. These are E rated tires, and you can definitely tell they are heavier, but I live in Colorado, and have had my fair share of issues with thinner sidewalls and punctures. I do pull a utility trailer occasionally (and am planning an off road trailer as well), so I chose function, but I'm sure my MPG's will suffer some...but whatever.

I'm on the fence about the fender flares and grill. My initial thought was to paint the flares and do white and black on the grill but I'm letting it sink in for a while before I make a decision. I may leave it alone!

I was in the same boat when I got it! I really thought I'd paint some of the stuff body color (I may still do the rear bumper ... but I may also just replace it with a plate bumper). I don't know, the styling has really started to grow on me. I think the black flares actually make the body look leaner, whereas the ones with colored flares look more chunky/blocky to me. It's just an optical illusion from the wheel wells looking bigger and the fender looking smaller because the flare is black, but I kind of dig it, so I'm never going to touch the flares now.

Everyone likes to complain about the grill, but in person I think it actually looks better than pictures. It's new, and different, but I think it's growing on me. I'm definitely not in as big of a rush to paint it black as I at first thought I would be. If I did ever paint it black the headlights would also have to be opened up and paint all that chrome in them too (or swap for those new TRD Pro ones that will be out later this year ...). I'm definitely into cohesive styling themes, and the details matter to me lol.

Sometimes doing too much can make things look a little bit mish-mashed, if you know what I mean, like someone opened up a JC Whitney catalog and said, "all the things!!!" Everyone has their own taste though, and sometimes messing with things, tweaking this, painting that, swapping out a few things, at least for some people is more about enjoying the process and having fun with it. I support people expressing themselves and enjoying their trucks, even the ones that do things leaving me going o_O (like the guy who clear wrapped his entire truck for $6k lol ... :der:).

Besides, you can always change it back if you don't like it! I'm going to take the wait and see approach to styling mods beyond these new wheels and a small lift though. I'll have fun with upgrading the stereo and trying to figure out why my truck likes to vibrate when slowing down :angrygirl:

I bet I wasted days of my life before I got the truck pre-planning how I was going to change it. Then, I got the thing and decided that I probably didn't want to change it that much. The grill change may happen, but I'm so indecisive about it that I won't allow myself to change it just yet. Additionally, I think we get in the "Hey, ChrisColumbusTaco1492 did this so I will to" mode and by changing it we make it look like every other modded rig out there. I like a stock truck with just enough mods to make you notice something is different. More power to the folks who really go the distance on mods, but for my needs, I just don't actually need them.

Wheels and tires are a big deal to me. I had an Audi A5 that I ordered several years ago and had new tires and wheels for it before it came off the ship to the US. I may upgrade the speakers in it as well. I'm underwhelmed by the magical JBL system and my rear speakers are crap. I'm no audiophile, but the rear door speakers are terrible. I'm fine with the fronts, tweeters, and the sub, but the rears sound like someone stuffed a greasy towel in them and they don't have enough volume to fill the cab with the front/back fade set to the middle. If you slide it to all rear, you might as well be listening to Van Halen under water. Not sure how to deal with that just yet, but I'm going to have to...f'ing annoying!

For those who have received their new wheels, who are you having do the mounting/balancing? Can the local Les Schwab / Big O / Discount Tires handle these w/out damaging them, as well as moving the TPMS? Are you using a specialty shop?

Personally I've had good experiences with Discount Tire, but i would probably check reviews for your local one to make sure. Since they only do tires/wheels they seem to at least be focused and tend to know what they're doing.

I had Discount Tire put on my Ray10's and they did a great job. Switched over the TPMS as well without issue.

    Check My Sig.
When you receive your wheels they are bundled together by the pair. At 24Ibs each, one pair is almost 50 IBS of just wheel weight not including the lugs and heavy duty packaging. Still not a ton of weight but quite a few pounds more than she wanted to try lifting.

4WD. No lift as of yet...kind of waiting on Bilstein to update the 5100's for 2016, no rubbing but you couldn't go any larger on the tires, as it's close with the 265/75

Im getting a local shop to do mine, never had a problem with them. I would let a small business tire shop do them rather than a corporate store like discount tire. Neither will likely damage your wheels, but the local shop will make it right, when the corp might just tell you to fuck off. If my wheels were damged when getting tires mounted i sure as hell wouldnt let it slide.

Already have an ARB/OME lift on the way and plan on doing 265/70/17 BFG KO2s for it. They arrive on 5/11 and the next day I will be headed out for Lone Star Toyota Jamboree, so I wont be able to get them mounted or anything until next week. Heck, may not even get them mounted until I get the lift on as they would more than likely rub witht he 265/70/17s on there and no lift.

Already planning on it actually. Local discount tire has 5 of the tires I want in stock... going tonight to see about holding them until Thursday morning.
