I'm sitting on a pair of 17x9 Brushed Copper Ray10's, that I bought for my 2nd gen. I bought them on impulse because they are such a great looking wheel, and I didn't want to miss out on the copper finish. I am planning on doing a 3" lift and BMC on 285/70/17 tire. Will it work? Or should I go with the 17x8.5 wheels and call it a day?

Also new to posting on TW, so I hope I'm doing it right! :alien:

    Cheers!

You can make it work, but it will take some effort b/c it will require more trimming and cutting than the 17x8.5 size.

I may be selling my never been offroad set of black 16's with falken 265/75/16 wildpeaks on them with 10K miles total. Thinking about 17's for the tire choices I want. Would be up to trade too.

I was on stock when purchased, kings now. I barely rubbed the little plastic lip on full lock but a heat gun and 5 minutes fixed that.

gotcha. I think I will stick with the 265/70 then. And good luck with sales/trades for the wheels!

Go with the 75, you will prefer the look and the ride more. Most people don't rub at all. I could have left the rub it happened so little. My alignment from factory was pushed way back as well.

265/75 wont rub, so don't worry about that. The only place I've heard it rubbing was the mud flaps (cause it's added plastic just bulking up the fender well area).

The only other thing that might cause a rub is just the specific tires you get and how deep the tread itself is.

thanks for the details. I was thinking of swapping the wheels and keeping the stock goodyear ones. The tires only have ~ 700 miles on, but in the future when I shop for a new set of tires, I will probably consider 75's. Thanks again

    None at the moment
I'm currently in the market for Matte Dark Bronze or Matter Jet Black R16". I'm not sure which color will look best in MGM.
Anybody selling some used or new ones around the Southeast region?
