Quoting myself here..... just heard back from Vin, the replacement center cap is less than $15 shipped to my door. I'm not going to lose a wink of sleep over that, lesson learned for my next time at a tire shop.

It will not be a regular option, but it'll come and go throughout the year. Spread the word, but brushed gold is coming mid June:goingcrazy:

Don't listen to that person ever againo_O. 285s will always rub without some trimming/cutting, and the CMC mod.

Truth. 285s rub amount will depend per tire, but yes, you're going to rub like Vin says. When I get a set again, I'll be buying 255/85s to offset rub amount.

Could someone point me to the right thread for cmc? I ordered a rough country 2in level kit for now to see if thatll help. Wanna get king coils, didnt plan on having to get something so soon.

Maybe if you would have asked as many times about the tire size as you did the lugs you would have been more informed in your decision.

You're still going to rub on a 2" lift up front. I was up 3" on 285s and caught pulling straight into a driveway at 2.6° caster. Rubbed a little up front but nothing compared to the back end. YMMV, but be prepared for disappointment.

That might be enough to help clear for on road driving, but if you cycle your suspension, at some point your tires will rub as the shock can only move in one linear movement in the travel. I would see if you can cancel your order with that lift unless you really like the look it has.

The cmc process is taking a grinder and cutting off the front piece of the cab mounts that stick out. You could always do this now and then find a welder in time. I had my mounts cut for almost a month before I got them welded up. These pieces wont affect your frame from a structural standpoint, but it will help keep debris from flying in. If you have a saw or some sort, I say give it a shot.

Please tell me if what im trying to do is wrong. From what these places are telling me where im at, they told me by putting this on, i can leave my suspension alone. That this will just raise up the front a little more to give me more clearance. Nothings been done yet. I have the lift but its still in the box. I told all these shops i dont wanna mess with my suspension and just about all of them told me to get a level kit and id be okay

I don't think many of these guys grasp that you might want to cycle (use) your suspension. Height has no bearing with the geometry of your suspension, only makes it take a little more stroke on your shock to hit the "contact" point. If you put the lift on, you will likely clear enough to drive fine on the street. If you want to take your truck on something more than a fire road, odds are you will rub at a time when you don't expect it when cycling your suspension. Unless you get some SPC arms and do the crazy alignment trick to get your wheels to shift forward enough then you can clear as some folks do.

You realize that it isn't the vertical up and down location that is getting you, but the forward and backward orientation of your tires that is getting you. Simply put 285s will not fit at full cycle in the "stock" UCA location and orientation. 100% guaranteed to rub unless you modify UCA location, CMC chop, or go with a smaller tire.

I think he is simply getting at you purchased a top of the line Toyota truck with a pretty good suspension upgrade over a non pro and are about to put the cheapest form of lift kit on the truck.

@Tony_LTN This is exactly what I was getting at.

What @Coot83 has pointed out is mechanically what you have going on.

But again, it's your truck and your money. If you got the pro because you like the color and wanna roll 285s on the street, through some pucks in there and roll on bruh!

If you plan to use the truck off-road, you'd be better off doing the CMC and possibly aftermarket UCA.

Whatever you do, enjoy your truck.

16in matte gray on 265/75/16 toyo open country AT2's. Stock suspension. Had to lose the front mudflaps for street driving. Took it Off road a bit, and a corner of the fender flare will have to be massaged a little for full stuff, but not bad at all. I like them alot. The offset is perfect for the turd gen.
