I have seen a couple of trucks with the 6's that have polished lips. Do not see those on the web site. Tell me more about those for a 14 DCSB TRD off road?

Taking my truck mounted with 265/70 Nitto Terra Grappler G2s on gunmetal Stealth 6s back to a reputable alignment shop for the 3rd time in a week for proper wheel/tire balance. Shaking between 55-70mph. They told me on the phone today they wanted to try sticking wheel weights on the OUTSIDE of the wheel so you can see them when mounted. Anyone have the weights on the outside in order to get a good balance? They told me aftermarket wheels were unpredictable with alignments and that we'd get a better results with the weights on the outside. Opinions?

I've been told by a tire shop that it is easier to get a good balance with weight on the outside. They followed up that statement with telling me they could also get a good balance with a combination of stick on weights and inside rim mount weights, just not as easily. Didn't cost anything extra to have it done so no weights were on the outside.

Just based on the photos in this thread, most if not all weights are mounted on the inside so it can be done. My wheels are balanced well at all speeds with the weights on the inside.

Did you get a standard balance or a road force?

Road force both times. Many oem wheel weights are on the outside but I haven't seen any pics here with weights on the outside.

1st time had shudder between 60-65mph. 2nd time much worse shake between 55-70 mph. Going to another shop for a second opinion.

Have them dismount the tires and re-position it 180°. You can always ask them to spin balance just the wheels alone to see if it's a bad wheel. An out of round wheel will show up right away. 98% of the time, it's the tires that are bad even straight out of the factory.

Was going to recommend this. I used to work at a tire shop (Goodyear) in college and NEVER put weights on the outside of an alloy wheel. As Vin said, have them dismount the tire and reposition it on the wheel.

Just got my gloss black stealth 6's put on wrapped in bfg all terrain 265/70r17. Looks sooo good. Was worried they would be too gloss but they match the mgm so well. Highly recommended!image.jpgimage.jpg image.jpg

I sure wish he would bring them back. I'd buy those in a hot second.
