Never use any type of wheel cleaner on matte finishes without testing a small area first. Sometimes the chemicals used are somewhat harsh so it can leave streaks/stains. You can try to buff/polish it out with some wax.

    Question for everyone...

I am new to the upgrading world.... I recently purchased BFG KO2 All-terrain 265/75/r16 tires. I thought this was the most important upgrade and I heard that many people avoid rubbing on stock wheels with no lift. Worked great!

A month later, I purchased the coveted SCS wheels, specifically: "Stealth 6" 16x8 wheels. Immediately driving off, I had major rubbing on the side walls. I took off the mud flaps and still had this problem. I think the problem is that my stock wheels were 16x7 and now the 16x8 wheels with an offset is causing rubbing with the same exact tires.

Side note: I do not have any lift... however, I plan on adding a leveling kit for now: 2in front, 1 in rear.

Do you all know if this will work and avoid rubbing? I want to know how much lift I might need to avoid this. Thanks a bunch!

Go have an alignment done and get as much positive caster as you can without moving the others out of spec. This should stop the rubbing without a lift. My bro in law has a lift and still rubs but he hasnt had his caster adjusted.

Thanks! I'm gonna have an alignment done this week after getting my leveling kit set up. Hopefully get some clearance although I'm not too sure if this will work

Running the 3.5" bs option will require you to do some light liner/plastic trimming. See where it's rubbing and trim away. When done right, it will be hardly noticeable.

Any idea on the valve stem size on Stealth 6? Looking to pick up some trail spares.

I can't say enough about how good these look. Not everyones cup of tea combination wise, but both truck and wheels change their color depending on light, so always an interesting combo. Reminds me of the Anole lizards I kept as a kid- changing from green to brown depending on their surrounding. SCS bronze is also the best color wheel I've seen anywhere when wearing a coat of dust, which is good for my truck- a wash only lasts as long as my driveway. Some examples:

Alright doll-face, c'mon and bore me!
Okay, I've got a set of Stealth 6 17x8.5 on the way (in matte bronze, of course), and I'll be using my current Cooper Discoverer A/T3 LT265/70R17 rubber, on my 2017 with no lift.

Vin has already advised me that my oem-style (molded) WeatherTech front mud flaps are going to have to go, and also there "may be some trimming required".

...but I really like my mud flaps. :(

Anyone know what I'm going to have to do to keep them? I guessing some additional altitude will be needed, but how much?

It just depends - all vehicles are slightly different. I'd start with the typical alignment and asking for as much positive caster adjustment and you can get it. Or, they might not rub at all - you'll never know until you get 'em installed.

Thanks... Yeah, I'm just kinda' playing it ear for now. Get the wheel/tire combo installed, then see what else is going to need to happen. Wheel alignment is on the list of things of things I should probably think about.

    Where there’s a will, there’s a way.

Altitude will help, but with the SCS offset you’re gonna be doing some trimming of plastic regardless. That’ll go for with or without flaps.

I’ve run that size tire on S6s and SR8s on two different Tacoma’s on stock suspension, and with mud flaps. I run Huskys. And I don’t know how they compare to the WT in terms of mounting/wheelwell space occupied. But with a healthy amount of trimming to the flaps I can run them.

Pardon the crude night time pics.

Well, I'm on 16 inch Stealth 6's running 265/75, so not exactly your set-up, but I'm still stock suspension (for now). I had to take off the stock mudflaps, and that reduced rubbing to a minimum mostly in reverse, and every now and then with wheels at 45 degrees and a down hill bump. I'm not trimming anything until I see what a 2"inch lift will do for things- and somewhat hopeful mudflaps will be able to go back on.

I will say, however, that even if mudflaps go back on I expect more spray onto the body and doors as the offset places the tires out past the fenders and flaps. Rock sliders will be the next upgrade and maybe offer some more protection?

It's worth it, those wheels will look damn good on a red truck.
